bahmaboy 06-07-05, - 01:00 PM If this is the case "i dont know how they should advertise it, but i am sure there are ways to get the clients without having to blast it over the airwaves." when it comes to a chistian cruise or a singles cruise.

Cruises for the Physically Challenged

i understand it would be totally unfair for a singles cruise to be free to advertise openly and a gay cruise would have to resort to just advirstising privately with travel agents. believe i dont like things like that. i am also not implying that there should be a law that gay cruise cant be publicly advertise. what i am saying is if gay cruises want these confrontations to stop and make the trip more pleasurabe for it passengers this is what they should do.
even it is not fair at the same time we must live in reality. in reality people have a problem with a cruise ship labeled Gay coming to their shores, not the singles cruise or phyiscally challenged cruises. in reality to resolve conflicts, their must be a give and take. so to please everybody in this situation i think the best solution would be to have gay people aware of gay cruises they must call or visit a travel agency. that way they can have their cruise and not bring unnessary attention to themselves. i think this would work.

Were you out there the day the Rosie cruise came in? I was. At first most of the passengers would not come off. But when we opened the rainbow flag and the message got back to the ship they started coming off. Many of them stopped and talked with us.
Many just came up and said thank you.
Some took turns standing with us because they wanted us to know we were not alone.
Some would not come off with their children saying 1 parent stayed on the ship with the children because they did not want to put the children in danger.
Most that stopped and talked said we are used to opposition we have lived it all our lives. We hope the protesters don't think this is new to us.
We had 300 rainbow welcome signs and we ran out the straw venders and merchants were begging for more.
From the thousands of protesters that were to come, looks like they had maybe 300.

This is totally foolish, how do you know if the singles, seniors or whatever are not homosexual.Yet again ya'll make EXCUSES for Vick and others who have an agenda to push. SMT
Teniel 06-08-05, - 01:16 AM Okay here is my take once again on this thread. It is not rational to announce yourself as a Gay Cruise when docking in a homophobic society like ours, and even worse in places like Jamaica. It is simply rubbing salt into the conservative wound if you will. What is the purpose of Gay Cruises, to make a political statement, or to enjoy the fun and sun of a tropical destination in peace(which is why you shouldnt advertise IMO).
While Gay Cruises should be allowed to advertise like other cruises, why would you when docking into certain destinations. For the life of me why would Gay Cruises dock in places like Jamaica and other extremely homophobic societies in the Caribbean. They barely made it here without incident. The only thing you should expect is fierce and violent resistance, (of course it is not right) but that is the climate and your few hours of docking in port wont change the standards of a society taht has stood strong and staunch for years.

How will things change if people do and say nothing? Standards of society have changed since man learned to control fire and worked with the wheel.
If it were not for change we would still be torturing and killing people for simply being left handed. We would believe the world is flat and mental illness would be demon possession that needed to be exorcized.
I am sure we all know aboutthe world being flat

During the Medieval period right up through the Renaissance the left hand was linked to Satan and those who used their left hand were thought to be possessed by devils, in league with Satan. One of the qualifications to be questioned, or tortured, in the infamous Spanish Inquisition was to be left-handed and often meant death. Left-handers were killed, tortured, exiled, and harassed throughout Europe more than any persecuted cultural minority for the simple fact that all religious or ethnic minorities always had a left-handed minority within itself. The persecuted among the persecuted.
FYI same page as above.
They are the people who were born left-handed. Left-handedness has been looked at as many things throughout recorded history: The mark of the devil, mental retardation, mental neurosis, rebellion, a nasty habit, a social inconvenience, homosexuality, and criminality to name a few.

3.1 In earlier times, people in general appear to have believed that both physical and mental disturbances were caused by supernatural spirits (a belief called demonology). Stone Age people treated both headaches and insanity in the same way, by chipping a hole in the person's skull to let the evil spirits out of the head (trephining). Another treatment method was exorcism,26 which used prayers, noisemakers, flogging, and starvation to rid the body of evil spirits.

what are you talking about? you missed the entire point of my post, teniel got where i was coming from somewhat. i am not making excuses for anybody. of course singles etc. can be gay but in general the world has no problem with a singles cruise. i said to not draw unessary attention to themselves they should not label their cruise as a gay cruise and not blast their itenirary all over the world, that is ALL i am saying. what i want to know is what exuse do you think i am trying to make and what do you think is the agenda of GLBT? also do you dislike GLBT persons or allow the way they choose to live THEIR lives not YOURS to affect your opinions on how you think these people should be allowed to live or what they deserve in life.

no i wasnt. firstly i wasnt on the island but a few weeks before the cruise i saw rosie and her wife on Live with Regis and Kelly talkin bout it, i was like watch bahamians make a big scene. secondly, please dont take this the wrong way, but even if i was on the island i wasnt goin to be out there; why you may ask? i have a life, i need to make money, aint no one out there was going to be paying me or my bills. also i make it a habit not to go to places where i know situations could become escalated or dangerous. also if gay people are comfortable with having protestors at their cruise destinations thats fine with me, i only brought up the point becuase i thought they didnt like fearing for their lives on vacation.

Vicky I dont think anyone has ever said that GBLT are not human. Secondly I think you need to stop wallowing in the past atrocities of mankind. Thirdly I think that you need to realize that many individuals will not agree with your way of life, but that does not mean that they consider you any less human. I say enjoy life and stop making everything a campaign.

i love the way you just dodge my questions. what myth's are you talking about? you mean the "myth" that a GBLT has every right as a straight person? anyway all i know is it makes no sense to treat a person any differently becuase of the way they live their life, remeber it is their life not yours. how would you like it if people protested and looked down on the way you lived your life. let God deal with these things becuase it is none of your concern or mines. also i think if someone close to you came out of the closet your views would change a bit.

I met Delroy at the frist protest. The news papers made an issue to the fact that we were all eating red lolipops. They also mentioned the woman filming the event. ( was delighted) Because I was filming the event.
