But the thing i dont get, her this, I now reside in both in Atlanta GA, and Lauderdale - yes a Bahamian with my own two houses and I know a number of Gays and lesbians from the Bahamas who fled, and are disgruntal at the Bahamas thier birth place this is not fair. A man or a woman should live thier life in a fashion that pleases her/him, and in thier own land free from the hands of crimes and fear of persecution, are we realy christians?

It is sad, and a lot of there Bahamians want to see thier familys and love thier familys. I have been throughout the world even in Isreal the holy land there are gays, in Africa there are gays, Haiti have them too come to miami you'll see.

dunno, they havent posted about that gay teacher of theirs yet, what was his name again ..? :shhh:

these cruises should not be turned back becuase gay money is the same as straight money. i think what that person was tryin to say is generally gay persons have more expendable incomes becuase they usally have no children, no alimony etc. also these caribbean need to be carefull of how they come across to people becuase gay people also have straight friends and when their friend comes back and says: "those bahamians, jamiacans, trini's etc was protesting and carryin on at the dock and ruined our vacation we fealt unwelcomed and out cast" their friends are gonna say well if that's the way they carry on I aint goin. and that friend tells another friend etc. so in reality turning away a gay cruise with 2000 passengers could have a back lash that cuases 25-50 thousand straight and gay visitors not want to come to your shores.

Poor self image for the most part, closely followed by religion.

We have always ruled by the stick or the preacher...both mentally intimidation on a child's feeling of worth. So, I believe that we are aggressive toward anything that we suspect can be better than us. Or we will take part in anything that make us look good in the eyes of others! The need to be important!

Don't believe me...bring a TV camera down town and say santa is a witch....and note the faces that appear on the screen during the protest to take him out of christmas! Then do the same again, but now say a well liked politician or preacher was caught raping a woman, and he should be jailed!

You guessed it! Same faces again...only now they want us to learn how to show mercy! It's the need for fame that drives most of us! We quickly forget that they were standing for truth and justice yesterday! NO GAYS ALLOWED.....OPPS, HE'S ONLY A MAN...SHOW HIM MERCY!

Also, in the case of the gay cruise, I am convinced that the sexual orientation did not have as much impact than the fact that they were Foreign Gays! For a lot of the protesters are friends of "home grown" gay people.

One of our local song by Eddy Minnis says it best--:Mind ya own business ( It is a song about confused principles of our culture)! In other words, one day ya fer this and the next day fer that! The gist is that in all thing most Bahamians will follow the fame.

Yet again another idiotic move by people who need to pay closer attention to what's happening in our country.

From the break I thought that the protest was silly because;

1) We're a tourist destination, which by default, exposes us to people with different type of sexual perference.

2) I've never seen a public protest about gays in our choirs, on the pulpits, youth leader, choir director, in the House of Parliament, in the schools, in the hotels, in the banks, in the barber shops etc..etc...etc..

3) Sin is Sin, so why I've never seen a protest about sweethearting, and stealing on the job?

And the list goes on forever. We continue to judge people by what we think is morally acceptable, and what's not. When what really counts is whether it's wrong or right.
