Sunnyjohn 09-05-08, - 02:10 PM I believe they (BTC) are afraid to deduct the monies because of further industrial action.... This is the perfect time to do those deductions. The weather is bad. No self respecting Bahamian will stand in the rain or possible hurricane wind on the word of some big bellied union boss! BOL! The Exotic One 09-05-08, - 02:23 PM My peeps in the Minister's office tell me that the punishment of the BTC workers has been decided. Ordinary line workers who took part in the strike, but did not use the vehicles, will be docked 4 hours pay per incident. Union representatives not using company vehicles will be docked a day's pay per incident. Those workers illegally using company vehicles will suffer punitive as well as financial damages, but the formula has not yet been worked out yet. Everything is being done in a fashion that will stand up to legal scrutiny. The pay deductions will happen next pay period because it is too late for this pay period. Workers who took part in the wildcat strike will also be punished by personnel in being overlooked for pay raises and promotions. If the union stages another wildcat strike contravening the court order, there will be jail time for the union leaders, and 6 figure punitive damages as well as seizure of union assets and decertification. DAMN I GUESS THE POWERS THAT BE HAVE SPOKEN!!! Brown Suga 09-05-08, - 02:25 PM This is the perfect time to do those deductions. The weather is bad.
