explain this: right after BTC members involved in the strike got a pay cut; they were awarded various pay increases, and incentives based on pending union negoiations.

Looks like the blocking of traffic down town worked. Of course they got a pay deduction for that day, but received lofty benefits due to it.

OK -- you know how accurate my predictions have been in the past. (it's almost if I have an inside line.) Anyway, here is another Lurker prediction that will come to pass with 95% accuracy rate:

There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth, and plenty of starve gut to go around. There will be blood on the floor at BTC around Easter time, and the Augean Stables will have a lot less manure in them. And the damn union won't be able to do anything about it.
