View Full Version : BTC workers punishment
Lurker 08-26-08, - 03:47 PM My peeps in the Minister's office tell me that the punishment of the BTC workers has been decided.
Ordinary line workers who took part in the strike, but did not use the vehicles, will be docked 4 hours pay per incident. Union representatives not using company vehicles will be docked a day's pay per incident. Those workers illegally using company vehicles will suffer punitive as well as financial damages, but the formula has not yet been worked out yet. Everything is being done in a fashion that will stand up to legal scrutiny.
The pay deductions will happen next pay period because it is too late for this pay period. Workers who took part in the wildcat strike will also be punished by personnel in being overlooked for pay raises and promotions.
If the union stages another wildcat strike contravening the court order, there will be jail time for the union leaders, and 6 figure punitive damages as well as seizure of union assets and decertification.

RockWell 08-26-08, - 05:05 PM You people make me laugh. Its obvious Lurker has never had NO dealings with govt workers & strikes. Buddy you've revealed no new information. When unsanctioned strikes happen, these results are par for the course and so is the back tracking that takes place. What will be a novel idea is for both the govt & union to find a different approach to doing things in this Country and stop playing with the emotions of the ill informed.
