Oh my gosh I know him..we went to school together and used to be dead cool. Wow.
blackscorpion 09-22-08, - 09:16 AM Oh wow...
He's quite a sociable fellow although many times intoxicated, but he has talked about his condition to those who cared to listen. Maybe something positive can come out of this.
d1973 09-22-08, - 09:20 AM this is so sad... heartbreaking...i hope others can learn from his story
John Doe 09-22-08, - 10:07 AM Wow, I know him to, havent seen him in a few years but he is a cool fella, all hope for him is not lost though, he can still be a positive role model to persons who used to live the lifestyle he lived and set an example for some to not follow in his footsteps.
I wish him a long life and I hope he takes good care of him self.

"Fortunately there is a tracking system at the hospital that checks and reflects on your sexual history," he said. "It is believed I acquired this disease back in high school."
Classic example of healthy individuals walking around with this disease....
This brings back a memory from back in da day.....
I remember my first blood test in 96..it was fa my first job...the doctor that was talking my blood accidently stuck himself with my needle after he had withdrawn my blood:biggie:....talk about awkward:taped2:....he nervously and joking said I hope you ein gat nuttin.....my father and I joked about it years later....I know my blood got priority testing just to see if he was ok.:)

WTF!!! :jawdroop:
I pray that his story encourages others to get tested. It's strange that he was so advanced (stage 4) and didn't even know it. It makes me wonder how many HIV unknowns are walking around thinking that they're healthy.
adidasboi987 09-22-08, - 11:27 AM how does he know WHEN he contracted the disease?
BAHMIA 09-22-08, - 11:31 AM Probably because he's in the stage 4. Since he's 30, that would trace back to about 10 - 15 years.

That about correct:
FYI for the rest of you, here is how it goes:
Stage one:
HIV infection is asymptomatic and not categorized as AIDS
Stage two:
includes minor mucocutaneous manifestations and recurrent upper respiratory tract infections
I honestly teenk he at dis stage cause he een say he experienced stage tree symptoms but hey, he might be at stage four fa true because while so much is know about AIDS, so little is still know as well......
Stage tree:
includes unexplained chronic diarrhea for longer than a month, severe bacterial infections and pulmonary tuberculosis
Stage four:
includes toxoplasmosis of the brain, candidiasis of the esophagus, trachea, bronchi or lungs and Kaposi's sarcoma; these diseases are indicators of AIDS.
