Garfield 10-02-08, - 01:43 PM Well it is time to see how much concern and compassion the union's president has for his members as he initiated and directed the action that resulted in this counteraction by the powers that be at the cooperation.
I suggest Union pay the affected workers the equivalent of the pay-cuts from the coffers of the union account.
Hmmmmmmmmmm.......

LOL!
No thanks!
It is a naive and perhaps sarcastic (wishful thinking) but it is to demonstrate my perceived view that the Unions only manipulate its members while at the same time get "FAT of the hog".
In this situation the Union leadership initiated and directed the action but ultimately the members are experiencing the repercussions, especially at a time of economic uncertainty.
I stand to be corrected but I have never heard of any Union suspending deductions during economic challenges experienced by workers.

You are correct they have never done so. Just ask the workers at the hotels.

Teniel 10-03-08, - 03:32 PM Yeah & i hope these same people strike & strike so the government could feel it bad. I support the workers all the way. I hate this government & i'm ready to support the workers. I which this situation leads to a general strike to hurt this Ingraham disgracful government. His government is only for the rich & the foreigners & don't give two cent about the people who supported it. I pray this government don't last for a full 5 year term. I hope this government is meet with alot of protest to force an early election.

Sunnyjohn 10-03-08, - 04:04 PM PLP, FNM. Sigh.
Our politicians have successfully pulled the wool over our eyes.
Our political parties are clueless. At best we have a handful or men and women with good intentions. At worst we are shackled to charlatans.
Neither party has a plan. We the people must demand a national plan that reorganizes our judiciary, education, health, police/defense, tackles our contitutional issues (citizenship, equal rights) and attempts to awaken the social consciousness of the masses of Bahamians (who are content to let their children raise themselves and live only to consume).
natureboy2136 10-03-08, - 06:53 PM Lawd when ya dumb, ya dangerous! If this government works for you then so be it. But alot of Bahamians in this country is relizing that this is the worse government they have ever seen in this country. For me i've never live under this type of uncaring government in all my days in this country. Hubert Ingraham in the worse Prime Minister i've ever seen in this country, very unconsiderate.
