Man the attitude and work ethic of so many people in the public service are so damn horrible...if I didnt have to deal with many of these government offices and their workers I never would.

We all know the public servants often get away with doing little to nothing. Why is it that these people are not reprimanded or fired? Just wondering is it a policy, managerial or cultural issue(s) which prevent public service reform?

We all know the public servants often get away with doing little to nothing. Why is it that these people are not reprimanded or fired? Just wondering is it a policy, managerial or cultural issue(s) which prevent public service reform?
i say its plain and simple old political patronisation that prohibits reform. All they need to do is fire everyone and have them re- apply and reassessed.

Politicians like Ingraham are the problem, sending their wutless constituents, family, or sweetheart to these government offices for work. Go to the maintenance dept. at the MOW for example, a very important dept., and see who work there. These politicians have no shame. My pappy- in -law told me that back in his day being a clerk was a big deal; you had to have 'O' levels to even be considered for such a job, but now anything off the street can have such job, just give up some skin to the right person....
