If I own a home in The Bahamas as a U.K national, and wish to rent it out for vacations, what are the legal implications??

You can do it, but you would need to have a Permit for your conveyance and Exchange Control approval from the Central Bank of the Bahamas.

Non-Bahamians generally purchase property here with a Certificate from the government if the property is for a single family dwelling, a first purchase, and under 5 acres. If the property is larger than 5 acres or a second purchase or for a commercial purpose (such as your house would be since it is to rent), then a Permit is needed for the conveyance.

Then you would need to obtain Exchange Control approval to convert your rental income from Bahamian dollars into pounds (presumably) and to take it out of the country.

All of this of course is if you do it properly...
