The Bahamas Water and Sewerage Corporation

I find this company like the other public utility company very complicated to deal with. I will immediately look into purchasing my own reverse-osmosis system so I don’t have to deal with them for using my well water as planned.

Do you know that Minimum water charge even if u do not use it is $36.00/ quarter (including 3,000 gallons)?

The consumer is charged $12.10 if they consume 10,000 gal or more

We pay an additional $18.95 if you consume an excess of 13,000 gallons

And in my case you pay a deposit of $115 for 2 or more bath rooms Plus 89.90 for sewerage charge/ quarter.

I am not 65 so I can not ask for Old Age Pension or get a 30% discount on their services.

What I am peeved about? I had a small leak and consumed 10 units of water in the 13,000 to 100 thousand gallons and paid the W&C a considerable amount and have my account current yet I CANNOT get a simple deposit check on another property for years of trying . The support staff unlike BEC and BTC is rather friendly (except the cashiers they need further training to deal with the public).

Even when you write the General Manager’s office and the Customer Services manager and go in public you don’t get any where with W&S. THEY ARE GOOD PROMISERS!

I lived on a hill and for 15 years I paid meter rental and got no water from the corporation. Thank God for BEC and old pump! And all I am asking is for my security deposit back after I sold the place. Its was interesting how their process works. I purposely allowed my account to be over due and sure enough they shut me off in a whistle. Good thing I had my 150 gallon storage tank.

SO HOW DO YOU RATE THE WATER AND SEWEARAGE CORPORATION and their contribution to the Bahamian public?
