Crazycoyo 05-31-05, - 08:53 PM so vicky your not a man, and your not a women, so you arent lesbian or gay, mussee gesbian!!? :D
Me dont get either so you're a man that likes women but thinks he/she is a women :uh:
Vicky 06-01-05, - 09:15 AM you could be considered attractive but your defensive attitude makes you an utter and complete turn off.
I don't know where this came from as far as Nick names go.
I will be defensive as long there are bigoted comments and attitudes.
attractive or not to others I have my one and only and she loves me when I come back from a fishing trip or if I am dolled to the 9s.
Vicky 06-01-05, - 09:30 AM Vicky why are you so defensive and you think everyone is a gay basher when they ask questions or give suggestions around the subject matter?
Be nice
When people ask questions they want to learn and hope to understand. When people make comments as to what they understand they are saying here is what I think what do you think of what I think.
When someone makes a bigoted comment such as you did I jump on that especially if it’s about GLBT.
First I try to make them aware of how poor their comment is in hope it will change their attitude.
If they insist on maintaining their position I make sure their foot is in their mouth for the world to see.
I don’t like double standards.
Vicky 06-01-05, - 09:31 AM so vicky your not a man, and your not a women, so you arent lesbian or gay, mussee gesbian!!? :D
No I am a lesbian with male plumbing if you must have a lable.
But easiest to think of, I am a human being.
LadyA 06-01-05, - 09:56 AM I am a human being.
I have to agree !
:dancer:
bahmaboy 06-01-05, - 11:20 AM so vicky your not a man, and your not a women, so you arent lesbian or gay, mussee gesbian!!? :D
das a new one rory. u crack me up. i could imagine your personality
bahmaboy 06-01-05, - 11:21 AM Me dont get either so you're a man that likes women but thinks he/she is a women :uh:
thats what i gather
bahmaboy 06-01-05, - 11:29 AM ok vicky, since you started the thread i was suppose to the least i could do is post the questions i PM'd you about so here they go.
Where do you live in the bahamas, which island? if it is Nassau I cant imagine what you go through, you must be a very brave person.
Is your wife bahamian? If she is you must be the luckiest guy/girl in the world becuase open minded bahamians are far and few in between, HELL findind some one this OPEN minded regardless of where they are from is hard.
what church do you go to? i ask this becuase most churches in the bahamas loves to gay bash and really are not understanding to people different from them especially in these areas
How did your family react when you told them, How did your wife's family react when they found out.
did you wife know when she first met you or did you tell her after.
are you glad you had a duaghter and not a son, do you think it is esier on you. I think a duaghter would be more understanding than a son about this.
in the thread you say if you got to get female plumbing you would still be only attracted to women, wont this make sex with your wife less enjoyable?
would you say that your wife might just be a lesbian? becuase I cant image a straight woman being with a man that dresses as a woman and would not mind if he got a sex change.
do you live everyday dressed as a woman or just somedays?
here is the big question
would you say that most bahamian men are homophobic becuase deep down they are homosexual or at least have the tendancies? i ask this becuase time and time again i here gay guys and transgender people say bahamian men would come on to them and want to "try" it. I am like these bein the same ones when they with their boys be talkin bout batty boy this and sissy dat. then again i think to myself why are they so stuck on the issue in the first place.
Do you do anything or participate in anything in helping the bahamian public to understand the differnce between homosexual, bi sexual, transexual, girlie boys that r straight vice vers etc.
bahmaboy 06-01-05, - 11:54 AM hey vicky, you might not know this and you are not homosexual so i dont know why i am asking but in a thread some where you made a comment that homosexuality was once widely accepted and practiced. were you talking about the Roman Empire?
BTW- was your boy name Victor?
Vicky 06-01-05, - 12:09 PM Me dont get either so you're a man that likes women but thinks he/she is a women :uh:
correction
Me don't get either so you're a man that likes women but knows he/she is a transgender.
You need to start thinking there is much more than just male and female day and night.
The Creator with infinite wisdom (translation in the Bible from the word sophia which meant feminine wisdom.) Created night and day. But also created I time before sunrise and sunset when there is light and darkness mixed at many different levels. Try it in the morning before sunrise watch as the light gets brighter. Vice versa for sunset see how it gets darker.
After the sun has set how much time does it take to get dark now compare time how long is it dark. Compare the time after sunrise how long is it light.
Male female light after sunrise and darkness after sunset.
All other gender variation dusk and dawn
bahmaboy 06-01-05, - 12:51 PM wow vicky i never heard anyone discribe it that way. did you come up with this on your own? if so thats some truely deep thinking
NASBWI 06-01-05, - 02:30 PM here is the big question

I know these questions are directed toward Vicky, but I'll put in my 2 cents: The homophobic attitudes shown by many men aren't limited to Bahamians. There is a smaller population in the Bahamas, and so various attitudes are much more prominent than in, say, the US. But the attitudes can stem from many things, and it tends to happen anywhere - but particularly in places where the general attitude is conservative/religious. The leading cause (I think) for the attitudes is the upbringing. Most of us were brought up to believe that homosexuality is wrong - a most abominable sin, in theory. And using that logic, how do people usually treat someone when they find out that they're sinning? Think about a criminal (I'm not likening the glbt community to criminals; this is merely an example). If a known murderer or rapist or robber is walking the street, do we go out of our way to say hello? The problem is that homosexuality is perceived to be on the same level as many of those crimes, which accounts for the hostile attitude towards them.
Another reason - getting back to your point - can be the latent attraction to men that a lot of guys may feel. Leading back to reason #1, they will stop at almost nothing to keep it a secret, for fear of being treated differently, or negatively (welcome to peer pressure 101). Being human, however, doesn't stop them from seeking to experience what they're longing for, and there's a term for guys who act that way - it's called 'the down-low'.
Personally, I feel it's sad that some men feel they have to go through such extremes just to keep everyone else pleased. It would be ideal if we could all try to be just a little more understanding (acceptance is a big if). Understanding may ultimately rid a lot of people of unjustified ignorance, and perhaps make the cruel world a liiiiittle more bearable ;) Just my 2 - well, 2 and half cents. Cheers

i totally agree with you NASBWI, i am glad you chipped in this two cents.
