Lets see - Uk = 1st world - Bahamas = 3rd world - there is no comparison anyway.. Bahamas has its pros, but its not tax.

I pay the government £100 ($200) a month in council(housing) tax to be allowed to live in my apartment. This is where the Olympics will be held in 2012. You can't buy a 1 bedroom around here for less than £100,000 ($200,000). It's the only place I can afford to live in London at the moment. Three weeks ago I watched two asian kids stab a guy (apparently for a laugh) as he was coming out of the fast food chicken shop on the main road at the end of my road. I can spot about 3 crack whores at the end of my street as I'm typing this. Thats also where a girls mother, brother and father was murdered in the middle of the sreet with sub-machine guns, in the middle of the day last year over a parking dispute. What do you see at the end of yours? Your'e welcome to come and let me show you around my 1st world any time you want.
Not saying that it's all a loss. I really like alot of things about England (all non-financial) but if I had American citizenship right now, I would probably be making plans to move there.

where you living again ?? We have a higher cost of living than anywhere in the US .. i lived in NY and it was much cheaper than here dread .. as for rent, depends where you live, what you want to live in .. and who you know .. that goes for every country .. I was just in California and that was expensive compared to other areas Ive been there, but still much cheaper than here ..

Put it this way, my living expenses here are three times of what they are in Long Island. My rent is a grand a month, and I live in NE philly. And when did you live in NY? I know people who live in NYC who are making $60,000/year out of college and their parents have to still help them. Beat that!

move to delaware...or S.Philly:) consult a tax accountant...it could be b/c you dont have any dependents...you really cant compare long island to anywhere else cus you dont have to pay rent there!

I don't tink your consider dat on top of erryting u pay in da us der is a tax on erryting and a taxon it again.plus income tax,preoperty tax,on cars,homes land,sales tax death tax inheritence tax,capital gains,excise taxes,state income tax,socail securitytax,unemployment tax,medicare tax.here it is ezier all rolled in one w/property taxes cheaper.i lived in da us and added it up,all da bahamas ein nassau ya no.

Yeah, I am in a really high tax bracket, with almost zero deductions. But how do you know that I don't have to pay rent in Long Island. But I did think about moving to south philly, but with the price of gas now... it ent worth it.

Haven't you been following up on the real reasons for the war in Iraq? They're even trying the same foolishness with Iran. They simply don't have a case, but they try to ring whosoever arms they can to give them support... Why aren't they bothering India or North korea? India has recently and publicly made steps to enhance their nuclear might...

Actually India and North Korea are real threats to America. (dey runnin' scared ;)) I believe they are trying to save face by bullying the nations that they still can bully.

Well I know some of them does smoke pot but still, yeah I agree it is a problem that your parents still have to support their kids after they graduate college. But it's common nowadays, the bills are just overwhelming.
