When I was a child and had asked my older sisters about things that they did not wish to, or could not explain, they would spin me around on the spot until I became dizzy and then they would run off and leave me. For what ever reason, when I caught myself I would run behind them and never asked the questions again. Maybe I was just happy to be close too them or not that concerned about the answers. Mr. Christie is a master at this ancient art. He spins you around with his words until you are basically lost in B.S. then he lets you go and gives that impression that he has done the world - much like his dance the Christie Shuffle . Am I upset with the issue of Mr. Sidney Stubbs? Yes I am! Am I surprised that it has happened? Absolutely not!!! The Boys are indeed BACK!! MR. Christie was billed as the "Right Man for the Job". And the Bahamian people believed it- if you accepted the Election Results. His record will speak for him. Raynard Rigby the PLP Chairman said that "the FNM must accept the wishes of the people". I would like to remind Mr. Rigby that the crowd also said "give us Barabbas!" :rip:

PLP Hijacked Water Assigned To The Red Cross!
Speaking on a resolution which sought the guaranty of the Government for $3.4 million for Bahamasair to the purchase of two Boeing 737 jets, Free National Movement Lucaya MP, Neko Grant, chided the Government for bring the resolution to Parliament at a time when throughout the country, particularly Grand Bahama and Abaco, Bahamians are hurting, having suffered the ravages of Hurricanes Frances and Jeanne.
The outspoken MP told Members of the House of Assembly that he cannot and will not support the resolution. He said that he was obligated to tell the Bahamian people why! Said Mr. Grant:
"Throughout this country and in particular Grand Bahama and Abaco, people are hurting, having suffered the ravages of Hurricanes Frances and Jeanne.
"Unemployment is at an all time high; undoubtedly the highest in 10 years. At the Royal Oasis Resort in Grand Bahama, some 1,500 persons have been unemployed; affecting the lives of thousands and it took the Government two full months to acknowledge what was happening. It took them two months to break the silence publicly. I challenge them to tell the Bahamian people what they would have said to Royal Oasis privately, if anything at all!
"The Government should be aware that the Bahamian people are insulted that they would bring this resolution to Parliament at this time when thousands of the Bahamian people are hurting. Personally, I am offended. You buy the airplanes, have a big show, and then you come and ask me to support a guarantee!
"The people of the Bahamas are hurting, and who ain't hurting, scared to do their jobs. Permit me, Sir, to just pause and commend the civil servants in Grand Bahama who would wish to execute their duties fairly, but are being interfered with, and intimidated by political operatives of the PLP.
"Mr. Speaker, as I said, who ain't hurting, scared! Junior and senior ministers have no regard for the law or procedures. A junior minister takes her personal MP plate and put it on a car that belongs to the Government. It's illegal, it is wrong, and nobody is doing anything about it. "
Relating an incident of October 25, 2004, Mr. Grant said that he and his wife were following procedures as it relates to security at the Nassau International Airport, when Mr. Shane Gibson, the Minister of Housing and National Insurance, walked right through the scanner with bags in hand.
Mr. Grant said that the security guard did nothing. He said he figured it was something new for MPs. Noting that Mr. Gibson has been an MP for two and one half years and he has been one for 12 years, he picked up his bags and attempted to do likewise; but he was stopped. He said that when he questioned the security and supervisor, they informed him that Gibson had "special privileges".
Turning his attention back to the reasons why he does not support the Government guaranteeing the $3.4 million for Bahamasair, he accused the Government for politicising the Hurricane Relief Project in Grand Bahama. Persons, he charged are intimidated. Hurting people are victimised, and discriminated against.
"They have used this project to spotlight and promote their defeated candidates in the 2002 May elections. Senator Bethel, the defeated candidate in the High Rock constituency is constantly in the newspaper as spearheading the Government's restructuring efforts. Senator Outten, the defeated candidate in Eight Mile Rock is foot-to-foot behind him. You know, since May 3rd, 2002, pump has disappeared from the face of the earth. People are no longer "united to make progress."
"Stephen Plakaris, the defeated candidate in Lucaya, now a full time Government employee, is parading around as the PLP Representative. This man is an alarmist, and during Hurricane Frances sought to instil fear in people seeking shelter in designated shelters! It's raining, the wind is blowing and one shelter is being evacuated because of damages and that people should no longer go there. This man goes to the radio station to say that the St. Georges Gym is unfit for a hurricane shelter. This man is Assistant Director of Security, Ministry of Education, responsible for the safety of our children and our school buildings and by virtue of his office should be a member of the Hurricane Preparedness Committee, but he waits until the hurricane is upon us, goes to the radio station with photos to say that a building that he should have inspected, was now declared unsafe by him. What a disgrace!" Exclaimed Mr. Grant.
Quoting his mother, Amanda, Mr. Grant remarked that "the rats have been left to mind the cheese!"
PLP political operatives, he said, who are working in the food distribution centre are simply politically nasty!
Mr. Grant said that at a number of the material distribution centres, there is no accountability. There are wide-spread allegations of corruption and of goods going astray. Political operatives are doing as they like and acting as they please, charged Mr. Grant.
Mr. Grant charged that a well-known American brewery shipped a container of water to the Red Cross in Freeport and the Red Cross never took possession of the container of water! The water was commandeered and distributed by politicians and PLP political operatives.
"The Government is using this relief project to provide employment for its political cronies. I challenge the Minister responsible for Housing to lay on the table the names of persons who have been enlisted to assist in the relief effort, their job titles, their qualifications, job function, and remuneration for all to see!"
The Lucaya MP said that food stuffs are being hoarded and not getting to the people who truly need them. He noted that the Minister of Housing in a Communication to the House of Assembly on November 10th, reported that "In Freeport, inclusive of Bahamia, Lucaya, Marco City, Pineridge and Williams Town 17 vouchers have been distributed so far."Mr. Grant said that nothing could be further from the truth.
"There are residents in many areas - Red Wood Lane, Limewood Lane, Williams Town, and North Bahamia - who truly need help. It is unfortunate that many residents, not only in West End or East Grand Bahama, but in Freeport proper that did not have home insurance. I love West End dearly, the place of my birth, and I have demonstrated my love, care and concern for it, but people in Grand Bahama are saying West End is getting all the attention because it has a PLP Member of Parliament," Mr. Grant observed.
"Williams Town was devastated! The road is in bad shape! If this Government was not so vindictive, and accommodated my project request, the damage to the Rand might have been less. For $180,000 Williams Town would have been transformed. But Williams Town knows that its day will come!
"The Government has gone wrong in the way it has handled the Hurricane Relief Project. The fitting and proper thing to do was to get the church involved.
Concluding his update to Members of The House of Assembly on the PLP's handling of the Hurricane relief project, Mr. Grant said that he respectfully suggests that that if Government is serious about providing real help that the following be done immediately:
Stop the victimisation
Stop the discrimination
Put a system in place that provides for accountability.
Consider granting some import duty concessions to small Bahamian business that lost inventory, and for whatever reason could not afford house insurance.
Ensure that insurance companies deal expeditiously and fairly in the settlement of insurance claims.
Consider extending the present duty concession to June 30, 2005.

What do you mean foreigners?????
I do not like beating up on any body or anything, but our government is here for us to rely on just like a mother or a father. So when depending on the service of government becomes difficult or next to impossible then one must find out why. :dgi: I did, and have discovered what I know. Many politicians are mostly under influences and some of this influence is personal influence of foreigners for personal interest especially if this influence connects to foreign power, investors or industrial and financial ties, this is how most politicians work, this is mostly why they come to work in the first place.
I know this as a fact we all know this or know of this. I have made many comments to this in other postings particularly in the Haitian threads, there have not been much respond to my comment either because most members refuse to make comments to this, refuse to respond or are afraid to respond to this, or can not say so because they do not know so. I really don’t know. :dgi:
