Due to the recent criticism of the leadership of the PLP government and recent events that have taken place in this country I have been moved to ask these questions:

Do you feel Leaderless?
Who is running this country?
Do you trust your Government?
Are we going backwards or forward?
Has anything changed since May 2nd 2002?

Has anything changed since May 2nd 2002? Yeah, The Prime Minister now wants to be a preacher.

It is an entirely sad commentary for constituents of a given nation to express near complete distaste for their present government. Even sadder still, is when a nation's people have been forced to a vote of no confidence in their own government. That is exactly where this nation stands. I have never seen such a mockery of government as is seen today's Bahamas. The scandals and ordeals of the 80s may soon pale in comparision to Prime Minister Christie's "Christian Crusades." I have no problems with Mr. Christie's personal religious beliefs. I just do not feel like the House of Assembly, Sir Clifford Park etc. are appropriate venues for such intimate acts. At that point, I encourage the Prime Minister to give Bishop Ellis and his congragants the "Exclusive Coverage" of his religiousity. I'm centain that they will market it well.

I have found the makeup of the Cabinet very interesting. PM Christie has placed a few real ‘brain boxes’ in his Cabinet. I think it was to hopefully start a positive competition atmosphere with each Ministerial head; but this has not kicked in as yet.
We do find them competing though but it appears that the competition revolves around seeing who get in the newspapers the most. Look on the bright side, you gotta love Ministers Peet & Gray…………they wear nice suits & boy can they smile.

Has anything changed since May 2nd 2002? Yes, we went from the FMN to the PLP. All that really changed was the letters and the faces!

SHOCK AND AWE!!!!! In just 1 year, Bahamians are ready to divorce themselves from the RIGHT MAN FOR THE JOB. The man has never taken a stance against anything in his life! Should we be surprised . We should be ASHAMED. The former Prime Minister said after the Referendum that he hung his head down in shame. A-hah but it's the Bahamian public that now hangs it's head in shame. Bahamians are the weirest set of people ever. We allowed the few to convince us that things were so bad that we leaped without thinking because they said so.The problem we had with Mr Ingraham was that he was decisive leader, but yet we complain that Mr Christie needs to be more decisive ; I don't get it. We were told that a Decisive Leader was a Maxium Leader. The word Leader is defined as - A person who RULES or GUIDES or inspires others. Rules is defined as -Dominance or power through legal authority. Guides is defined as-Someone who shows the way by leading or advising. Looking at Mr Ingraham and Mr Christie - the difference is like eagles and chickens in the barn. The eggs may look the same; the chicks may look the same ,but while one soars above the other scratchs the ground for worms .I by the way I voted FNM. My grandmother would say "The grass is growing and the horses are dying" Okay then,the solution doesn't fit the problem, if you don't understand the saying.

I agree with everything you say, Uncle Bob. But perhaps our problem is we (as a people) like to complain because we do not really know what we want!. If we get "A" we want "B." If we get "B" we wanted "A." If we get "A and B" we want "C."

I have great sympathy for anyone in leadership in the Bahamas. It is a thankless, no win, job. Why can't we see that we are, in the long run, lucky! Our economy is good, it has its ups and downs - everyone does. We have had leaders who have lead us, for the most part, well. And when their terms were up the mantle of power was passed on without blood shed! (No small thing in the world today!!)

Perhaps we just don't understand! Not every bill passed, not every decision made will benefit 100% of the people. Some will win, others will loose but that is how it works, hopefully the majority will benefit.

I am not PLP. I doubt I every will. But the current PM is my PM. I support him because the majority have spoken. I will keep my eye on him, as all good citizens must. When he is wrong, I will speak up BUT I will argue my case and it will not be based on my pocket book.

Maybe that depends on if your hope is in being a self-made man or woman; or is in being a instituition(s)-made man or woman.
It is interesting to recognise the obstructionist/non-service political ploys within the elitists-ruled fiefdom.

In the fiefdom it seems that it is not in the interests of leaders (political leaders especially) to empathise with non-instituitional people and thereafter promote/subsidize training/financing in their most realistically feasible & accessible potential business activities such as large-scale fishing or mid to large scale farming.

It seems the obvious destiny of a huge percentage of those hoping to be self-made men/women will be that of clueless non-success and or neurotic decline.

Some of these people, fully cognizant of their liabilities, but yet hoping for kind ,empathising leadership & social assistance with pivotal internationally legit creative projects come to learn the hard way that the consciousness within leadership (including a formerly approached socialised ex MP <thus HAI's false insight & reaction???>) is too socially/ministerially unaware and black-crab-ish to allow any socially handicapped or dis-advantaged persons below them to rise to freedom.
Also when It comes to personally- experienced politically-motivated suppression it seems that the ongoing nonsense and puppeteering will never stop until the puppet supprisingly politically ju-jitsus them (be it PLP or popularly touted HAI as counterweight or any,any,anybody else) in their (religiously directed?) brown-nosing motives and malicious, infexible project-interpretation.
