I agree with you one hundred percent, I think what you have here is a bunch of persons who have not gotten over the fact that the FNM lost the election. As a Bahamian I would be lying if I said I was better of under the FNM. I don't know where that guy got his statistics from; he must be spending too much time believing Mr. Turnquest. How come he did not quote the statistics on CRIME or is that not important, haven you notice it’s down. It’s amazing that any one who attempts to look at things objectively and truthfully is branded as belonging to one of the major parties.

Gatta get 5cents in here---

When r we, as Bahamians, going to stop 'flaunting the line between the haves & haves not'????? OKAY, so U gat a college degree....yippeedy, da....

So do I---BA, MA, & a whole host more...honestly earned the 'old-fashioned' way!!!

The question is "IS THE PLP DOING A GOOD JOB'??? Not...how was the FNM's performance prior to etc. and frankly any and every Bahamian is well qualified to comment on this! This tit 4 tat, etc. isn't called for...

It is absolutely irrefutable that Bahamians and The Bahamas saw tangible IMPROVEMENTS under the FNM's 10-yrs. in office and to try twist this otherwise or ignore it is quite foolhardy! Now we seem to be in an era of 'great suspicion' about everything & everyone.

One talk show caller put it very succintly---"when dey come asking 4 ur vote...try ascertain if they have 'common sense' and forget 'bout party, etc."

Bahamians are FED UP W/ the confusion of these parties.....As I said earlier the PLP has tried; but they are showing every sign of 'greenness' & 'greediness' from some.

My cry is that they would truly get serious about serious issues (like education) & quit flying all around the place concealing inactivity w/ 'press coverage'---sometimes watching & listening to ZNS is all about them.

And what's this thing 'bout "Bahamas is #1"??? #1 at what? Certainly we have our advantages over others in the region; but believe me we have a whole heap to catch up to too. We need all kinds a wake up calls...

Okay here I go again, man am I getting tired of having to defend my posts when it really shouldn't be neccessary. I am not bragging about having a higher level of education. If you read the post I quoted from you would see that I am just contradicting what another person wrote about PLP supporters being uneducated.

And about the PLP doing a good job, I voted yes to the poll. And the reason I compare the PLP to the FNM is because of the response by others.

And if you read other posts I made maybee they are on other threads, I agreed that the FNM did make improvements when they became the government. But the improvements came with a price. They sold our hotels and bent over backwards for foreign investors leaving the bahamians to be servants. If they really cared about the Bahamian people like they claimed, they would have planned for the future in the long run and not just the short term. Tell me why didn't they just renovated our hotels themselves instead of selling them. The money that the investors are making could have been going into the treasury instead of the pockets of the investors. We would have had citizens working in upper management in the hotels instead of Bahamians being servants. Saying that our treasury was broke is no excuse. They could have done what every other nation does with a broke treasury. Borrow money. So what if we create a deficit. Making money in return can pay of that deficit and Bahamians would remain employed with better jobs and the government would be getting lots of more money from the returns of the hotel other than the skimpy taxes they get from the investors. If this isn't making any sense to you then I guess you are a blind FNM supporter.

How can you assume they are not? Have you checked the national budget plan? How much money is to be spent on education?

And what's this thing 'bout "Bahamas is #1"??? #1 at what? Certainly we have our advantages over others in the region; but believe me we have a whole heap to catch up to too. We need all kinds a wake up calls...

And if you don't believe that the Bahamas is #1 in the region you should try visiting the other carribean nations. NO not visiting you should try living in a few for a few months. Lets see what your thoughts would be then. What do we have to catch up too? You are confused and you must be blind. And I don't mean blind of sight, but blind of knowledge. How can you not see what we have here.

PLEASE WOULD THE REAL BAHAMIANS STAND UP AND SPEAK FOR OUR COUNTRY!!! WE ARE BEING ATTACKED BY THESE SO CALLED BAHAMIANS LEFT AND RIGHT. WE ARE SURROUNDED BY FORIEGN IMPOSTERS TRYING TO UNDERMIND US SAYING THEY ARE BAHAMIAN. BET IF YOU CHECK THEIR BIRTH RECORDS OR BLOODLINE YOU WOULD BE SUPRISED!!!

Whew! I had to get that off of my mind. Now that I have calmed down, I want to know exactly where the Point got his so called degree. Must be from the back of a cereal box or in a candy machine or something. I mean really. How can one claim to be so educated and still missunderstand comments like that. His hypothesis isn't so scientific. Its more like a wild unneducated guess of what he think I was saying. Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha.

Let me get out of here before I blow. :sparky:

I love all my bahamian peeps. :heartbeat

Later. :)

umm..well, I'm not really the 'hip to hop thru threads type' but--I suppose creating a deficit is FREE...dah.... u know, there's an economic principal that simply states that everything costs. Of course improvements came at a FEE...so do my groceries every week, but I keep gettin' em?????

My cry is that they would truly get serious about serious issues (like education) & quit flying all around the place concealing inactivity w/ 'press coverage'---sometimes watching & listening to ZNS is all about them.

Lemme answer your question with a question. How many people must the education budget support? More than 4,000 teachers, 40,000+ students, 200+ schools, Janitresses, Yardmen, many satellite offices & officers and a very large staff (hundreds) at central office, it is the LARGEST ministry. Is it reasonable, Mr./Ms. Harvard, to expect the dollar quoted in the budget to be a good measure of how serious we are about education. I put it to all that if every member of staff received $200 a month, the education budget would SOUND impressive! Let's get serious, let's get REAL!

And if you don't believe that the Bahamas is #1 in the region you should try visiting the other carribean nations. NO not visiting you should try living in a few for a few months. Been dere, done dat. In fact lemme throw one area at u... technology....HELLO? And by the way, hurling insults don't count--if ALL BAHAMIANS must swing to your side to qualify as citizens---tuff titties!!!

That would be HER, thank u. My cry is that more his(es) would similarly qualify themselves, the country needs it! And although, Mr. Harvard, u insist on the insults; it is obvious to ALL readers that u went to great PAIN to dissect my comments. Why devote such time and care to a "graduate from the University of Wulff Road...hey?" I should further point out that I submitted NO hypothesis...notch yet. I've merely shared from my bounty. AND, if that sharing prompts u to usher me into the arms of the FNM... u could forget the blind part, I may take u up on it...eyes wide wide wide!!! :walk: :walk:

What are you trying to say here? To me it seems like your talking with two mouths. I don't know if you are for or against creating a deficit when the treasury is broke.

What the heck are you talking about. I don't know if some of your text were erased when you submitted or were you just angrily typing away to whatever came across your rambling mind. Why did say technology without enlighting us further? And then ending it with tuff titties? That boggles my imagination. I thought all titties were soft. Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha. :bigmouth:

Well I am sorry for thinking you were a guy but I never did go to Harvard the winter would be killer to me up there in the northeast U.S. And I never have to go to great pain to disect anyones comments. If you would Hip Hop through some of the threads and read a few posting you would see that it is obviously quite simple for me to do so. Getting back at people nastily is a natural thing to me. And some advise, don't continue going back and forth with me on any issue, you obviously can't keep up.This thread is about the PLP's performance so lets stop the pettyness. Just send me a private inbox message if you are willing to let the debate go astray from the subject.

I feel up to today there are alot going on in the country that we are not talking about and trying to fix such as our youths what programs are we going to set up for them there are so much youths grad every year that cant read count or spell we need to help our youths. The bible said young man will see visions will old man dream whiles we are young to help lets help our youths because i have been hearing the saying for years the the youths are the future but what are we doing for the future turning them down and not helping them if they cant get help from the party leaders the church, and even there own family then where do they go. By saying this my answer is NO because the PLP is not for the young people if they were they would not put this old people back in these high positions. like i said earlier them old people only can dream of what they should of done i am sure i can get atleast 50 young males and females that have a better plan for the bahamas so give the youths a chance to show what they are made out of.

I need a sentence in this to understand it!

Actually i understood the 2nd (last) sentence. Yes you are right there, we need some younger high tech people in the government, seems the ones there now, and before, may not be quite there, and may be still living in the past. Maybe every senator should be given a PC with MSN and outlook express installed, a webcam, and visual basic and get started on some 'real' learning! ;) Im with you on that. And technology enhances education, and common sense.

The people I am refering about are the ones born in other countries or still nationals of other countries. The reason they are imposters to me is because these people will say the nastiest thing about the Bahamas and still claim to be one. It happens everyday and everywhere you go. Someone is saying "Yes I am a Bahamian and I don't like this Place. I don't like Bahamian people." Now ask these people where are they from. Place of birth that is. Answers are Jamaica, Haiti, Trinidad, Cuba and other places of the world. What I have noticed is that these people love living in the country but hate the natural born citizens. Why is that. And to explain something to a few of you people looking for the native bahamians listen to this. The native Bahamians are all around us. When one says native Bahamians they should realize that in 1773 when the country was established as an independent nation this is when the Bahamians began their existance of a national of a brand new independent country. Before us way back past 1492 were the Lucayans, not Bahamians because the Nation Bahamas didn't exist. The Bahamin Nation existed in 1773 and all born after independence day were Bahamians. So no, we are not foreignors. We are the Nationals of this country. We may not be the first of the land but we are indeed the Native Bahamians. Yall get yall records straight 'bout dat hear! So I am indeed right about who our native citizens are. Now let me get back to the imposters. I am tired of these people trying to undermind us about who they are. In the U.S. lots of different races are american born with lots of different national backgrounds. But they are indeed american born. And what are they labelled as? African-American, Hispanic, Latin American, Asian-American etc. etc. This is their identities when labelled by race. When labelled by national background they are either Haitian-American, Jamaican-American, Cuban-American etc. etc. All I want is for these so called Bahamians, the ones with foreign national background that is, is to label yourself what you are whenever your planning verbal attacks on the country and its natural citizens. I don't like rory's comments but at least he labels his background as, what is it? British?, Scottish?, Irish? something like that. Well this helps me to ignore his comments and his dislike of alot of things of this country. Because I can understand why he has such a different view of what things should be like. Now to the others coming from these third world countries, you people should have very, very, very little to say.

So to you people looking for the natural Bahamians, I hope that I have cleared that up for you.

AND YES WE ARE THE REAL, NATURAL BAHAMAINS!!!

Well 100% FINALLY we agree on some stuff!!! and I quote "...people will say the nastiest thing about the Bahamas and still claim to be one. It happens everyday". I HATE this too about many a foreigner living here.

Nevertheless, I hate when politicians and many who use the 'RACE CARD' to gain political credence, playing on Bahamians emotions and at the same time continuing to divide the country and keep too many too narrow-minded. In my view you're toying with this and if its deliberate its very very very deceptive and wrong.

bahamian born and bread, freeport to be more exact. But yes, British ( not Irish) and New York back ground, so yes, i expect the best...

i never said i dislike this country...Nassau, Nassau, Nassau, is not the country. But Nassau is the problem. If I could move to Freeport and make money id be there a long time ago, or Long Island, or any other island, as would alot of people living here in Nassau.

The only things I dislike is when things are not done right. As we are a democracy, I have every right to comment on every issue of which we have alot here, at least in Nassau. Nothing will ever change for the best unless someone complains, and Ill be one of those someones. If someone thinks every thing is fine and dandy here in Nassau, then they are in denial, and thats not just a river in egypt!

I just find it funny that I try to inject verifiable facts from respected organizations like the UN into the argument about how the PLP is doing a bad job, and they can only call me names in response.
