Now we find common ground.
The strategy employed by some larger nations is simple: Support or appoint corrupt, ineffectual leaders who run smaller countries to the ground *coughaiticough* and by the time people figure what's happening, they are so desparate for change that they will accept any solution (can you say assimilation?). This is why the debt has to be eliminated, more aid provided, and trade barriers have to fall, especially in Africa; these simultaneous steps will allow poor nations to pull themselves up and learn to sustain themselves. Mandela said in that video that poverty is not natural, it is man-made. It's a problem that men have to solve, namely the most powerful 8 men in the world.
BTW, One.org and Live 8 are tied at the hip. They are overlapping campaigns with the same goals that I mentioned previously. One (literally) is targeted specifically at Americans. More at http://www.one.org
yeah i know one and live are tied together. their goals differ slightly. its like a ford expidition and a lincoln navigator (only a slight difference). that was an intresting theory about larger nations supporting curropt govs. i agree poverty is not natural, it is a state i dont think god intended man to live. what those people live in is worst than poverty, i dont even think there is a name for it. on this side of the world many people can do things to avoid poverty and stop taking things for granted.
