Difference is, blacks and women weren't looking for the laws to be changed. They were looking for the laws to be followed.

No there is not equal rights just look at the Miss Teen Bahamas issue.
Look at same sex marriage ( or what ever you want to call it)
Look at the difference of penalty for sex in public.
Look at the different limit for legal age to have sex.
there are more.

GLBT are treated differently under the law and the people that enforce it, that is not equality.
The GLBT are treated differently by society as in harassment for just walking down the road. There needs to be a law that protects us.

I know a young man who had rocks thrown at him when he was walking down the street. You could see the rocks still in the road the blood on his shirt. He pointed out the group of guys that did it and nothing happened. Because you could see he was gay. The cops told him he should not walk on the street, that is the street he lived on.

A young gay teen was raped when he reported it, he was treated like a criminal by police. Even in court he was ridiculed by the police as they called their buddies to come see the sissy. The Judge had to put a stop to it just to get the trial going. Not long after the trial he ran to Miami where the last I herd he is a drug addict and prostitute. A trial he won but at what cost.

Yes we are equal as long as we lie and pretend to be str8....

We already have special rights under the law and by society.
GLBT can't have a legal union like heterosexuals can because we are so special.
If GLBT get caught having sex on the beach it can be 20 years in prision but heterosexuals get caught having sex on the beach they are so unlucky they only get indecent exposure.
We are so specail the police tell us not to walk on the streets we live on. How lucky can we be??
When we are violated the very system that is supposed to protect us ridicules us so much that even the judge ended up have to put a stop to it because it was slowing down her court. Straight victims are not so specail now are they.

We don't want these specail rights anymore make us equal.

Why did women have to push for an act of congress just to get the right to vote. Women could not legally vote......

I find it truly amazing the way we humans justify our actions and separate ourselves from what is morally reprehensible.

When we look at the situation of women in hindsight, we can all say that not allowing them to vote was wrong. We can all agree that they were and are still entitled to this right just as any other person in society.

When we look at the situation of blacks in hindsight, we can all say that the entire system of slavery and racism was overtly wrong. We can all agree that blacks, whites, latinos, etc. are all equal and all deserve the same benefits.

Looking at these past actions and realizing how terrible they were, I don't see why it is so hard for people to realize the atrocities that the GLBT community faces and call for some equality. No, they may not be slaves. No, they may not be denied the right to vote. They are denied the right to marriage. They are denied the right to adopt in many cases (if not in written law, it is upheld as a law de facto). They are denied the right to justice (judicially speaking) in many instances. This list just goes on and on. Wake up people!!!
