I was an athlete in college. So I met a lot of other athletes. There were guys 21 and 22 years old who graduated college not being able to spell the word *THE*. They had no shame, no pride. A lot of them got signed to NFL teams or the Canadian league so they were getting paid and didn't care. One guy though, he bought a motorcycle and hurt himself really badly. The end of his career. He had a degree in finance so he got a job as a bank teller. That didn't last long. It was just depressing being around so much opportunity and so few people taken advantage of it.


mik u are preachin to the choir. i could list names and names and story after story of the people i met who are doin nothing with themselves. oh yeah and at the end of the day they will swear it is "the man" who keepin them down.

Yes they would have been hanged. This would surprise you Vicy but i know allot about Iran and Islam. I have muslim friends here and in Saudi and I speak a little Arabic. Iran is a very organized state. In fact it's one of the most organized nation in the muslim world. They have laws and as evil as those laws are they apply them. They built their own nuclear facilities without any assistance from the U.S. This is why the United States fear them. Believe it or not these are very intelligent people as prehistoric as their country looks.

Iran is a terrible nation of course but what I am asking is out of all the people that were murdered in Iran why you picked out these two guys who were accused of raping a 13 year old boy?

If I am not to believe that they raped a 13 year old boy then why should I believe that they were gay?

Delroy tried to show some sort of credibility in understanding muslims and the Middle East with his muslim friends and knowing a bit of Arabic. I simply let him know he is not the only 1. There is a bit of a difference though I grew up with it.

There is more hate in the world than 'gay hate'. Why can't this be discussed in a more broad sense - why some people don't like other people - instead of yet ANOTHER gay, lesbian, tranny issue? The main message board is crammed with different threads that lead to very similar discussions, usually under some other title like this one.

'How long will the world keep up the hate' could have been a topic about

Religious conflicts
Terrorism
Poverty
Communism or Dictatorships
International oppression
Road rage
Smoking indoors
Rape / molestation

but no, its about alternative lifestyles again. Doesn't this belong in the Dear Vicky section?

UNLESS you mean in the context that smokers are having all their rights taken away and trampled on by all these gaddam lobby groups! even OUTDOORS in some places they dont want people to smoke! is it a JOKE??? PUH-LEASE...if you have a problem with smoking - either:

1. dont go to a pub - where smoking and drinking go hand-in-hand
2. when indoors - sit in the 'non-smoking' section!!!

I mean fa real - what is up with no smoking in an airport??? news flash: after a 10 hour flight, SMOKERS NEED A SMOKE! bloody hell, whats so 'annoying' about having a smoking room in the separate section of the airport!?

In my mind, smoking is ok with coffee, beer, good food, sex, etc. I used to smoke 1½ packs a day, now only when I've had more than 3 beers. Needless to say, I'm on my way to alcoholism!

Despite my smoking, I don't smoke inside only because I don't like it hanging around my head. Wierd, I know, but hey...

There are some (lots more than there used to be) that HATE smokers, smoke and smoking. I agree with you though, after a flight, I want a cigarette!

It's like a nasty holding cell, where there's nothing comfortable to sit on, a loud extraction fan above and people looking at your sorry butt (pun!) like a guppy in a fishbowl. It could be catagorized as inhumane and unfair! I think GB airport has one (fan doesn't work though)

They have them at the Atlanta Airport as well. The "good thing" is you don't even have to light a cigarette! Just take a deep breath or two in there and you have had your nicotine fix for the day. :dancer2:
