do you really own the land, or is it commonage?

the reason i ask, several of us tried to buy twenty acres on northern andros a few years back, that we were told by BAIC was available for sale from a certain individual. he represented that he owned the land, but we soon got a cease and desist letter from his mother's attorney ... no lie!

I am looking for 4-10 acres and would be interested.

I learned in Land Law that vendors are supposed to provide good title when offering land for sale and at the time of the offer.Our system is so screwed up that title searches are unreliable since it can take up to four years to record a deed, and deeds are not guaranteed by the state.What a mess.Can anyone explain to me why it takes more that a week to register a deed? I would like to put that question to the Minister responsible for the Registry, and the Registrar General.
