Us Airways is opperating Bahamasair routes to the U.S. Thats how Bahamasair can talk about expanding thier services in the United States and elsewhere. Even though i never heard an anouncement about this, they showed up in their searches as Bahamasair operated by US Airways to some US destinations. And I guess they are all over the site a part of their business deal.(?)

Two words - CODESHARE FLIGHTS
Definition - An alliance allowing two airline companies to use each other's route networks.

yeah but say i dont like us air, but for some (unknown) reason wanted to fly bah air, and they stuck me on a us air plane, wouldnt then they be apart of false advertising, say i never went to their web site and saw the logo there ,...

or do they tell you that you are flying on US air when you get the ticket and it sais US air ..

i can hear lawsuit if it wasnt the bahamas government owned airline . .. cause false advertising is essentially fraud ... once you have paid for something, but get something else ... :bigmouth:

Check your ticket. It should have some reference to USAir on it. Your itenerary, wherevery you got it from (web, travel agent, direct) should have some reference as well. BahAir knew it was a USAir platform they were booking you on when the transaction was made.

There is probably a bit of "false" history stated there re British Airways pulling out because of some fuel crisis. Not 100% sure but I think it had something to do with some conflict between them and the the govt!

:dgi: Great Demos, first I seek to understand. I don't see any reference to British Airways or fuel crisis at all. Did I miss something?

Rory, this is BAHAMASAIR we're talking about. You really could be flying in ANYTHING if one of their planes is down and they have a lease something at short notice.

They're having a catering problem right now, where passengers have to eat before they fly because they not serving any meals, but apart from that, every airline is crunched because of high fuel prices as far as I know.

When you click on the link, the first sentence under "About" seems to indicate that British Airways and Pan Am discontinued servicing the Bahamas because of a fuel crisis. (Could be the fuel crisis refers only to Pan Am).
