Kudos to Morton for making the gov pay their bill now only if BEC would follow suit.
But this post is not about the power deal in Inagua. It is about Morton salt. I was in Inagua last year and a colleague now deceased took me to morton salt plant. It was a lovely process that wowed me. Then he took me to where morton salt use to be and it was awful. The land appeared to be scorched the rocks had this grimey look to it and the water was dirty brown. He then told me that this is what morton is doing to the island and when ever he have visitors to the island he take them on this tour. From what i have seen of the land, you can not use it for anything, I dont know if there was an enviromental study on the effect of salt process plant but i think they BEST needs to take a look at it. :(
