CG 08-29-05, - 12:37 PM I usually stick with The Nassau Guardian, The Tribune, The Punch (of course) and sometimes the Bahama Journal, but what newspapers do you folks read? I can't say I like any paper, but I do get the Punch, to read Anthony Whites column and Nikki Kelly's. I read the Tribune from time to time. 12play 08-29-05, - 01:33 PM I read them all, as people should. How else can you determine what is going on and who is spinning what? The Journal is pretty good; I love to read Vince Ferguson and Felix Bethel. They have come a long way (Journal) in terms of the physical attractiveness of the paper but they had good storied from the beginning. The Gaurdian used to be very biased, but they are more balanced now, and are telling better stories. The Tribune is still biased in its tone but the paper is perhaps the most physically attractive as well as covering the wideest scope. The Punch is pure entertainment. I would like to see more stories behind the stories, eg, the USA is our largest trading partner, but for some reason we chose to go with GSM instead of in the direction of CDMA in our cell phine standard. Who made that decision and what was the mechanism?Tiger Finlayson is a succesful business man. His story needs to be told. I know that he was a tailor by profession who bought out his boss' company (I think it was a car company). How did he accomplish that, and did he have silent partners? chancellor 08-29-05, - 01:51 PM The Tribune, Nassau Guardian and my local Freeport News is a daily must! ronnie 08-29-05, - 02:46 PM [QUOTE=12play] I read them all, as people should. [/QUOTe i read all except the punch.no time for gossip, and sensationalism. i have been reading the journal from it's inception when it was under miliwen publishing.i would like to see more columnist in the journal. and more features, i think the journal does more investigative reporting than all three.the editorials are fair.number one for me.the tribune is still to partisan. but still makes for a good read.the gaurdian is in the middle of the road. garnelleo 08-29-05, - 03:11 PM 1st. tribune: becuase it's sports page bodyslams any other 2nd. i only get the guardian when i have a dollar so that i can get both 3rd. the journal if wendy's them giving it away for free with breakfast I owned a punch once, and that was when they were giving em away free with back to school stuff. Read the source when it was free, and i dont even know if they still sell it. Rory 08-29-05, - 04:05 PM none, just online, the guardian and the journal ... by the way all the news is the same as the government propaganda machines tell them what they want them to post ... you have the opionion things that are different but they are a waste of time .. garnelleo 08-29-05, - 04:31 PM i notice that when I watch ZNS news, they always give this biased spin on things, and fail to mention alot of key points. Now I dont know if its them or the persons who tell them the news. lynette 08-31-05, - 09:20 AM i notice that when I watch ZNS news, they always give this biased spin on things, and fail to mention alot of key points. Now I dont know if its them or the persons who tell them the news. Its them. The 'man' tells them what they can and cannot say. They have this thing about 'panicking' the public. I use to work there as a summer student and you would not believe the stuff that went under the radar or that got pulled last minute from the news cast cause this MP called or that MP called and said not to air it. 12play 08-31-05, - 12:43 PM I change my mind..the guardian uses the best quality material for its paper, and the type is crisp and clear. It is the most attractive paper out there and the content is excellent, save for the mealy mouthed columnists and editorial writers. garnelleo 08-31-05, - 02:10 PM Its them. THE TRIBUNE HAS ALWAYS STAYED ABOVE THE POLITICAL POO POO FLOATING AROUND OUR HEADS! |
