finekameo 09-04-05, - 10:25 PM Just found it on the net I was looking for something else. These are the photos I saw on CNN But it also explains it better these photos were taken by 2 different news agencies. Now I understand.

Start a new thread...
bahmaboy 09-04-05, - 11:24 PM Well I don't get it, so please explain. I don't see the connection between the two at all...
i know. to say its good that the BA is homophobic becuase its a christians nation is soooo far off base and illogical its laughable.
songbird 09-04-05, - 11:53 PM i agree. she jus start experimentin and now she jus confused
songbird 09-05-05, - 12:03 AM :uh: See this is total foolishness right here & you are either a homosexual yourself or have bought into their agenda.Pagents by their very nature are baised.Because you have to be a certain height, weight etc.So all this talk about discrimation is total foolishness.Don't they have the fat girls pagent, why dn't the fags just go ahead & do their own thing. But NOoooooooooooo they would rather try & make you change your standards to conform to them.
THAT WAS WELL SAID!!!! LOL I WAS WAITING FOR SUM1 TO SAY THAT
bahmaboy 09-05-05, - 12:07 AM i agree. she jus start experimentin and now she jus confused
can i ask why do yall think she is confused. its funny a person says they r gay and people tell them they r confused. a person says they r bi and people tell them they r gay. la chica dice que ella quiere los tacos.
finekameo 09-05-05, - 12:19 AM can i ask why do yall think she is confused. its funny a person says they r gay and people tell them they r confused. a person says they r bi and people tell them they r gay. la chica dice que ella quiere los tacos.
LOL...isn't it funny how that works...I think we all need to just accept the fact that, as bahamaboy puts it, "she wants tacos" and not enchilads.
Vicky 09-05-05, - 07:28 AM i agree. she jus start experimentin and now she jus confused
Why do you say she is not a lesbian?? Is it because she does not fit your profile of what a lesbian is???? She told reporters she has known her sexual orientation for years and she is going to be true to her self.
Abiskan Moon-Angel 09-05-05, - 01:12 PM What's to explain? Moon Angel said something about the Bahamas being homophobic. I told her that's good, 'cause it means we are a Christian nation!
erm...ahh. GD: really, what i deduce from the statement you made above is sub-logical. how can you proclaim that we are a 'christian nation' because we are 'homophobic'? shouldnt being a 'christian nation' mean we embrace a christ like mentality? honesty, respect for others, healthy living, safe and clean environment???...sweetheart consider this...and sorry i cant give exact figures but you will probably know better than me:
-the high crime/murder rate/violence (as well as domestic) in the bahamas
-the high amount of crimes involving dishonesty (theft), etc
-the extremely high cases of incest (as far as i am concerned, 1 is too many)
-extraordinary commonalities accepted as 'the norm' in our society (ie: infidelity/adultery - even amongst leaders of the church)
ps: i will remind you, in feb it was proclaimed that the bahamas stood apart from all other nations as being the number 1 country IN THE WORLD with the most churches per capita!!! IN THE WORLD. we only have a quarter million people! dammit! if we really were a christian nation, with all these churches and such a small population, bahamas really would be heaven on earth! additionally, if we have more churces per capita, we must also have more bars, cause as we all know, there's one alongside every jumper church/catholic church/anglican church /baptist church/and any other type of church! bottom line is, the country may have been founded on christian principles, but that is totally seperate from the people living in the country. living in a country founded on christian principles does not mean one must be christian. one can be atheist, hindu and/or gay - whatever. it should be the individual's choice, and the state should butt out of people's sex (and religious) life!
dont equate senseless, ignorant, primitive homophobia with being christian/christianity - its an insult...particulary when the Bible teaches love and tolernace - not hate. none of us are demigods. we should be judging noone - leave that to the dude above.

a standing ovation to that. it was intresting about the church per capita. i actually know of three places in nassau where there are two churches in one building!!!!!! thats how bad this problem is. keep in mind i am sure there are a few more and as yall know there are many spots where churches are actully siting right next to each other. i think that person who said many bahamians attend church becuase of lack of recreation and entertainment may be on to something.
garnelleo 09-05-05, - 01:38 PM On every corner you will find four things.
A church, a bar, a barber shop/beauty salon, and a basketball court.
Abiskan Moon-Angel 09-05-05, - 02:16 PM And you know what else BahamaBoy? its not only the number 1 recreational activity because people are bored out of their minds...its because thats how we were brought up. we are put in christian schools, we are sent to sunday school every sunday and we are constantly bombarded by people all around us talking about virtue. the result: if you question christianity, you are bad. you have demons. we arent even taught about other religions in school! how dumb did i feel when i moved abroad and had no idea what a sikh or buddhist actually believe? at home, we are made to feel terrible about ourselves if we do something 'un-christian'. we are made to feel like we've let others down if we are not one of the many sheep. we leave home and live in different countries, meet new people and our parents tell us 'don't adopt the ways of the world'! this is why the ministers try to get us 'when we are young'. and stupid. too naive to question anything. do bad - ok, just come to church on sunday, pay your tithes and repent. and oh! how we repent. every single sunday for our deeds on saturday night. everytime we have extra-marital affairs. everytime we have pre-marital sex. repent, repent, repent! im not trying to be sacreligious. i just wonder whether people actually think about these things?
its time for the church to wake up and realise, either adjust your storyline to accomodate people in the 21st century, or kiss your young followers goodbye. i mean, this might not be the right thread for this post, but this organised religion stuff is beginning to frustrate me. take the Catholic church and its warped and outdated views on abortion, homosexuality and pre-marital sex. we have an establishment which preaches sex before marriage is wrong. well, im sorry, but maybe 2000+ years ago this was up for debate - when people 'married' at 12. it is simply unreasonable and indeed stupid to think in this day and age, when people wait until early 30s to marry, that they will also wait to have sex. get over it. 30 year old virgins do not exist. and if they do, they masturbate (oops...can i say that?)....and according to the church even masturbation is wrong! what then? sweet jesus, and the poor priests who must abide by this stuff? they are then forced to break not one, but TWO of God's heavenly rules: (a) 'homosexual relations' (b) with a child??? oh right - this is the church we are swearing by! on abortion - are you telling me, an establishment with countless documented incidents of child molestation has the right to tell me/look at me in disdain if i believe in abortion? whats worse: having an unwanted child that you cant even afford to adequately provide for, or aborting a fetus? i reckon aborting a fetus takes a few minutes...much better than a lifetime of hell for an unwanted child.
i know im way off topic so forgive me, but when will people wake up and realise organised religion is a bucket load of crap? please dont get me wrong. i believe in God, and he has done miracles for me. i believe there is a Supreme being who will judge us all someday. what i dont believe is the crap ministers tell us to get our money. to make us feel bad about ourselves. if we are homosexuals we will burn in hell...who are these people, and where they hell do they come from? do they not study the bible? did the bible not say: thou shalt not judge? these men are often not men of God. they dont teach. they preach at you...the spittier the pulpit the better. im sorry, but i will not accept someone preaching down to me, telling me im unholy, when they most likely have full-blown extra marital affairs with choir girls. pastors should be leaders, teaching us to be Christ-like and humble. And im sorry, Christ would not accept luxury cars (or maybe camels back then) from a starving congregation. Christ would not have a private jet, when so many of his own Bahamian people (children) cannot afford a new school uniform, or a healthy lunch to eat at school. And Christ would certainly not live in a million dollar house. this crap has got to stop. then they have the balls to talk about you doin this, you doin that, you bad. the Vatican still refuses to publicly debate the information translated from the dead sea scrolls found more than 50 years ago! why?? terrified that all you sheep will eventually think for yourselves, and potentially question the very foundation of the 'Church'. terrified that editing the bible and adding the lost books are too controversial. ha! go figure. the church will continue riding you sheep for fools.

:taped:
licks2 09-05-05, - 02:26 PM Hope you march for all the overweight, short, ugly and just downright unpopular girls at the same time.As for the committee," how dear they try & set standards for their pagent,I say off with their heads!" :sarcastic
What! Them kinda people can't keep their crowns too! Boy let me get out my tennis shoes and placard...this committee done lost they bloomin heads! ;)
The committee can make a law that says no fat people or those from Bain Town can walk across their stage. However, the Constitutuion of the Bahamas says they cannot do so and exist as a government sanctioned entity! Also, the Con. plainly says that ANY law (including bylaws) that conflicts with the Con. shall be null and void! Thats where we say "NO WAY JOSE" to the committee! And, why not off with their heads? They een using them anyway...they een ger miss em!! :p
Alien 09-05-05, - 04:24 PM abiskan moon angel sounds like another bitter hatefilled individual!
Listen, Christianity doesnt require you or for that matter ask that you follow everything to a tee...and in fact we can never follow the entire bible down to a tee IT IS HUMANLY IMPPOSIBLE!!
but we can try to live by some principle..and that is what makes us so great....we have some that can help to lead us in the right path when we fall down in other issues!!
I may be an adulterer..but the thief may be in a position to help me get past my indescretions!!
Abiskan and Vicky....NO ONE IS PERFECT!
and it doesnt make us hypocrites for pointing out ill behavior....just making us decent in doing so in a tasteful fashion!!
And i am sorry that christians may have hurt you in the past...or you feel that you have "evolved" :sarcastic to the point that spiritual guidance isnt what fulfills you but to each his own!!
I happen to think personally you are going on the wrong path about it (and throwing stones at religion doesnt serve any puspose for any reason)...but it wont be decent or good of me to tell you that all the time...rather it would be good to help you to understand the faith by what it has taught me and for what i feel it stands for!!
k.o.o.l.b.o.n.z.e 09-05-05, - 05:37 PM wow...nice post AMA. i concur with pretty much everything written there and felt the same way and expressed those very same thoughts at probably a much younger age (boy was that an experience :))
