im sorry, but are you saying that being a lesbian is evil? oh dear god...we have been over this a thousand times, and as you may or may not know, vicky is the expert in this area (pls dont get her started)...i do think that your equating homosexuality with evil is totally archaic and small-minded.
There you go again, criticising people because their views and opinions don't line up with what you infer to as modern descriptions of good or evil. If I didn't have an opinion onthe topic I would have in tendency to side with the individual that was consistent.
You refer to the trend of thought that homosexuality is evil as being archaic, but I'm a strong believer that if something was morally wrong then, it's morally wrong now. By the way, what qualifies your friend as an expert, she's obviously aligned with a movement that promotes this lifestyle, so her strong views and opinions on the issue goes without saying!
But I guess the vast majority of the bahamian population that see this issue of homosexuality as being morally wrong or evil, is just archaic and you guys are endowed with the ability to determine what is now acceptable and what isn't.
Please Give Me A Break!

I dont think my comment was critical in any way towards those with a different opinion from me. maybe you should point out what you thought was critical about it. as for this issue on moral standards...you say if it was morally wrong then, then its morally wrong now - but morally wrong to who? what you may see as immoral, may not be seen as others as immoral. for instance, i see cheating people out of money as immoral. i see adultery as immoral. i see discrimination based on sexual orientation as immoral. i apologise if that makes me a bad person. :(

And I see a so called educated person calling a big rusty man *she* as not only immoral but also stupid.(wonder what you would say if your boyfriend came home this evening and told you that he is now a female)

Speaking of morals then slavery is ok then????? I am no expert on homosexuality. However I have first hand experance on transgender issues. But I know a lot of homosexuals and talk to them.

If you have a problem with my gender identity well guess what its your problem.
The more I see and here from people I think things could be worse. I could be like you to. I thank the Creator I am not like you.

I knew that one of you would go here. I think it is so offensive to our black incestors and black people in general to use slavery and compare it with the plight of homosexuals. I'm not gonna go into detail about the many ways in which they are different, because of time constraints, but my God you guys have to stop this nonsense.
Just for the record I'm not homophobic, I have gay friends, but It doesn't mean that I approve of their life style. One of your leaders at the rainbow alliance is a friend of mine(miss B. Greene).
I just think it's wrong and distasteful to make those kind of comparisons. Think about it objectively!

Don't really know what you are talking about, but my thing is that if the committee has certain standards then what can you do?? That is not *HER* crown, she was awarded a position by a committee. They have every right to remove a title from someone who in their judgement doesn't reflect their standards.
Just like Bahamians *CHOOSE* a leader. Sure, becoming a leader of the Bahamian people is a great accomplishment -- but the leadership *ISN'T* his or hers -- it is *OURS*.
*WE* decided.
*WE* chose.
Based on *OUR* standards, if the leader doesn't reflect what we want in leadership, we have every right to remove *OUR* title from him and give it to someone that we feel does fit our standards.
Same thing with the Miss Teen Committee.
Did you vote?? Did you have a say in who would be Miss Teen Bahamas?? I didn't think so.
so your saying because a government official wears an orange tie and a few people dont like it should we get rid of of hm/her? the question is whether what she did was immoral or against any of the laws/guidelines for the pageant! being gay doesnt qualify as being immoral or wrong. lets take off the mask and get to the point, you dont like or accept gay people so your comments arent based on facts just silly opinions that were beat in your head as a child "DONT BE A SISSY" "DONT BE A SISSY"!!!!!!!!!!
Fact is she won the crown fairly
Fact is she is a lesbian
Fact is the only "grounds" the have for dethroning her is because she is gay
Fact is thats DISCRIMINATION
