This is one of the most mixed up threads ever...I think someone needs to interview this girl to find out what happened and then report back to us, cause right now this don't make any sense to me...gay shoes...geeze...

Hopefuly the member that this was reported to has more info I will find out and post it. No matter how it turns out.

Your opinion

As far as I can tell it is fact. Unless there is a thread when you *DO* bring up the issue of false accusations of homophobia, *THEN* I'll accept it as opinion. But as far as I can tell you haven't. I'm willing to bet that you won't. Which makes me believe that you aren't interested in justice or equality. Its like NBC running a story that turns out to be false -- in order to secure their integrity, they *HAVE* to run a follow-up story reporting on the fallacious claims.

You haven't. And as I said earlier -- you won't.

The truth of the matter is there was a number of females who came to school wearing male shoes ( 53 reported). They where all reprimanded but as we know there is always a Vicky in the bunch & things got out of hand. Now if there is another version out there feel free to post it. p.s. We all assume that a group of young girls wearing boys shoes are gay or at the very least totally confused, but I guess it's the opportune time for a colorful group to grap some media hype for their cause. :bored:

We meet this Thursday so far I only have the name of the person that reported it to our member. They were in the same room with the grandmother when she got the call. I will not give that out as it would be just plain wrong.

That is in the members hands that is dealing with it. I do other things with in our group.

Right now I am spending a lot of my time taking care of my Mom and Dad. Dad fell last week and told no one. I did not find out until I went to bath him and saw this huge swollen bruise on his back near his waist. Mom is in Canada and Just got the news she will not be able to come back to the Bahamas because of the dialysis that she needs and all her other complications. This is what we though might happen Mom and Dad are very depressed. Seems they will have to live the rest of their lives and die separated. I am still checking into it and hoping but for now its a no go.

Do you know the meaning of the word phobia? And I like how you select parts of my post to respond to when I answered your post in it's entirety.

:dgi: While I'm sorry to hear about your parents,What does that have to do with this discussion? You brought up the issue, the least you should know is if your group was invited to respond to the Ministry Of Education on behalf of this child & her PARENTS.

If my memory serves me correctly, wasn't it reported in the papers that this school had a female gay gang....i even remember a post in this room refering to it...Then maybe this 'gay shoes' thing is a much bigger issue that we think. It may be a new code or uniform for identification.

So I found this info online that might clarify the issue...not sure if anyone else has seen it yet but this is one account of what happened...

Meanwhile on the southern end of the island of New Providence, The Tribune reported that some 50 young women were made to stand in the hot sun for hours as punishment for wearing what were described as “gay shoes”. An unnamed source said that the shoes are Clarke’s brand that are actually unisex but the dominant culture identifies this with butch women, and being lesbian. Punishment ensued reportedly. No word on whether it is true or not. Certainly the Ministry of Education should investigate such a report. Not only would the idea of identifying shoes as gay be over the top but what about making children stand in the hot sun for punishment. The report appeared on Friday 9th September.
