View Full Version : Who Is Saying This?
Harald 06-03-03, - 10:04 AM Who is saying this?
The Bahamas does not need a new Crime and Corruption Victims Assistance Division in the Office of the Attorney General because our mission is not to advocate for the rights and the needs of any victims. Why should such a division administer programs that directly benefit victims of crime and corruption, that assist victims with the financial burden resulting from injuries, and that assist the criminal justice system in holding offenders responsable for the effects for their crimes and corruptions? And it is also not our mission to treat crime and corruption victims and survivors from abroad with respect and dignity. For those of you staying in one of our Bahamian hotels for the first time, you will soon discover that many of us are chameleons and pirates. The government of the Bahamas is certainly pleased if you choose the Bahamas for your vacation or investment.

In every country in the world their are good and bad people and things!
In my opinion "bahamas-international.net.tc - Shame on the Bahamas" is a stupid site that only gives bad experience and nothing good. The site must reflect the owner
I feel that the Bahamas is a good country just like any other with its own problems!

Harald 06-04-03, - 01:59 AM FunBahamas, could you also publish arguments?
Harald 06-04-03, - 02:57 AM Dear webmaster, dear community, I am only wondering which respect Bahamians really have towards foreigners. Allow me some questions:
1. Why do you have lawyers in the Bahamas who do not respond even if you send them 10 or 100 reminders? Are they doing this towards foreigners only?
2. Why do I hear from other foreigners that the ethics committee at the Bar does not excist? They published code of ethics but they ignore them right away?
3. Why does Mrs. Lashley try to avoid an interview with the European media?
4. Why is the A/G Alfred Sears not responding one letter up to now? This helps the reputation of the Bahamas?
5. Why is even PM Perry Christie not answering any letter whereas he promissed? Does he call this respect towards foreigners?
6. How high is the percentage of the Bahamian citizens who do not like Americans in reallty?
7. Why did a high percentage of tourists say that due to high prices and also as well as poor service and bad attitudes they won´t come back to the Bahamas?
8. What is the real cause that the relationship between Bahamians and foreigners is so poor? And does the comminuty see any chance that Bahamians and foreigners respect each other better in the future? And what needs to be done?
Excalibur 06-04-03, - 01:48 PM Harald I will answer your questions
1. Why do you have lawyers in the Bahamas who do not respond even if you send them 10 or 100 reminders? Are they doing this towards foreigners only?
Ans = There are lawyers all around the world who do the same thing to me "WOW, this mean that it must not only happen here"?
2. Why do I hear from other foreigners that the ethics committee at the Bar does not excist? They published code of ethics but they ignore them right away?
Ans = I heard the same thing about London's Bar.
3. Why does Mrs. Lashley try to avoid an interview with the European media?
Ans = People in the U.S try to avoid the European media too ! !
4. Why is the A/G Alfred Sears not responding one letter up to now? This helps the reputation of the Bahamas?
Ans = Actually NO, The Bahamas now has one of the best reps in the world, $1 Billion worth of investment in a four week period I guess people love this place must be a good reputation !!!!!
5. Why is even PM Perry Christie not answering any letter whereas he promissed? Does he call this respect towards foreigners?
Ans = He has a high level of respect for foreigners because they same to be attracked to investing while he and his government is here.
6. How high is the percentage of the Bahamian citizens who do not like Americans in reallty
Ans = How high is the percentage of European citizens in Europe who do not like Americans in reallty? VERY VERY HIGH you and I both no this !!!!
7. Why did a high percentage of tourists say that due to high prices and also as well as poor service and bad attitudes they won´t come back to the Bahamas?
Ans = The Bahamas has the higest rate of return visitors in the caribbean according to the Caribbean Tourism Board !!
8. What is the real cause that the relationship between Bahamians and foreigners is so poor? And does the comminuty see any chance that Bahamians and foreigners respect each other better in the future? And what needs to be done?
Ans = Well according to the International Monetary Funds imf.org report in 2001 the Bahamas growth in the next 5 years will be built highly on foreigners because of the good relationship. Being why foreigners in the past 4 weeks saw it necessary to invest $1 Billion in our countries tourism sector
Well I guess the Bahamas like every other country has its pros and cons just like the US, Europe and the rest of the world!
:o
I myself love the Bahamas but hate bad service but I get over it because its everywhere.
Harald 06-07-03, - 02:37 PM Bahamas Consult: Congratulations for 30 years of Independance (and respect the foreigners)
1. Ethic codes of Bahamian lawyers: In my country I will get responds in writing on EVERY letter! So, your meaning is at least that Bahamians have to feel like a stray dogs if they contact a lawyer.
2. Bar Association in London and Nassau: At least you recommend to fire Mr. Peter Maynard as a result?
3. Relationship to the media: First thing what you learn if you study business and public relations is to improve always these contacts. In other words Mrs Lashley has a bad conscience!
4. Reputation of Attorney General Alfred Sears: Not answering letters is a very primitive attitude like you would go to Graycliff and eat lobster using your feet because you need the fingers to dig in your nose. And by the way we have to wait till the end of Mr. Kerzner´s story and his deals with the government and we do know enough people they would never invest again money in pirate minded countries like the Bahamas.
5. Prime Minister Perry Christie: I want to remind you only what the polls of The Tribune and BahamasB2B are saying!!!
6. Your relationship towards Americans: The differences between you and me in that matter might be that I just talk with everybody but you smile into American´s faces and hide that you want to take advantage of them only.
7. According to the Caribbean or BahamasTourism Board you could read this commentary from a tourist: Why we hated the Bahamas? We landed in Nassau, and the shock and disappointment set in from the very beginning. The short ride from the airport to our hotel was $25. On the way to the hotel, it looked like we never left the States. We passed by McDonald's, KFC, Domino's, Wendy's, Outback Steakhouse, etc. Our hotel (at $90 the cheapest we could find) was also American - Quality Inn. It appears the Bahamians have never figured out how to turn the billions in tourist dollars they get into owning any of their own businesses. The largest, most famous hotel, The Atlantis, is owned by a South African. We went out for dinner. $70 and it sucked. We were trying to eat the local food. It was expensive and bad and the service was extremely slow.Don't go to the Bahamas. If you do go after all, bring a lot of money ($200 a day per person would be doing it on a budget; we spent $350 in 18 hours) and rent a car. It's cheaper than the cabs. By the way, we called it the "$100 islands" because everything seemed to be about $100. A good meal for two, the cheapest hotel room, what we spent on cabs in an 18 hour period (actually $125), swimming with the dolphins (we opted out), riding a horse on the beach (we opted out), taking a boat to another island (we opted out). The Bahamas is overrated. My advice is to save your money and go somewhere else, where your money will take you much further, and you can experience beautiful places and culture. Thailand would be high on my list of recommendations.
8. Respect toward foreigners: I hear that always that the Bahamas has its pros and cons like every other country. Are you not concerned like your tourism officials about the findings of the National Tourism Quality Assurance Survey with the result that a high percentage of tourists won´t never come back to the Bahamas due to bad attitudes, high prices and poor service?

hey ostrom dahlink that is really rich. you come into another forum outside of your very own forum and attack a webmaster who wants to keep haralds inane ramblings to a dull roar.
yet you with your nifty spyware on bahamas consult.com and bahamasb2b.com and bahamas community com won't even let strangers post for more than a few minutes with out insisting on tracking them down via e-mail.
who are you to nonestly talk of wanting democracy in action? only when its suits your own purposes apparently. you and patrick and harald have got to stop complaining sometime, or at least hire a real lawyer to suit your cause

Thank you for your reply.
Its amazing how God works.
I was just watching a teaching on television by Bishop Neil Ellis on the effects of progress.
He said that “you cant have progress without having new enemies”.
He also said that when you see your enemies rise up that is a sign that God is rising you up. “You cant have one without the other”.
That is why Jesus said to bless those who curse you and do good to those who do you harm, “love your enemies”. It all makes sense now because God has my enemies bringing me good news.
God is amazing! :D
Be blessed,
Delroy.

Harald 11-11-03, - 03:00 PM I do know that honesty could hurt but the best would be to continue an open discussion - the worst is to control or stop any meanings. Fortunatelly we can write letters to editors and they might be published. Fortunatelly we have talkshows where we still can talk about our concerns. We should do this also on our message boards. Otherwise we would accept a censorship similar what the government demonstrate concerning ZNS. Bahamas Consult has doubts since years that the Bahamas is a real free democracy. The Bahamas open forums are as important as the role of the media like newspapers, radio and television because the role of the media is fundamental to the proper function of a government. Remember that you had to fight hard for independence but make shure that politicians power never becomes absolute. I guess if we could agree consequently this forum plays a important role as well.

ANSWER:
I personally have no clue who these Gentlemen are, but i will say this to you. They really have some serious ISSUES with some Bahamians. You as a Bahamian should really understand that people are being robbed in more than one way, and further if i could recommend a honest lawyer, it should be Pleasent Bridgewater from Freeport, nobody corrupt from Nassau
You take care now Islandgyal, and remember not anyone is your enemy just because they dont agree with your views. Peace

I cant really believe that you let this TV Bishop mislead you like this, can it be a good Gods intention that you should hope for more enemies than you already have, to get progress, this Bishop should get of the drugs hes taking. And Delroy must you always drag religion into the discussion when you cant reply on the issue itself.
Religious fanatics really scares me, and i have met some in my time, from my travels in the mid and far east. Delroy you start to level with the extreme muslims in the middle east, and that is no compliment i can assure you. Get your act together man.
