there is nothing "honourable" about wisdom, or our pm either!
I truly believe there are no honourable people in the house of assembly & probably the whole of politricks.

but he's independent of direct gov't control. what are you saying? and explain it to me like a fifth grader because I want to understand.

I will try,
The COP post is suppose to be indepnedant of direct gov control, but lets

not for get how these people get in power. If you remeber BK was brought to

power by assisting the PLP gov during the 80s commision of enquiry. He was

a Supt in charge of SIB (specail Intelligence Branch) and after the enquiry he

was made COP, he jumped:bouncy: many ranks and many well deserving officers. The

gov change in 92 and was stuck with a PLP COP so they put presure on BK

by cutting his budget and eventually offer him a nice package and he left.
:biggie:

Hope that works

How dou you rate the coverage between ZNS tv 13 and cable 12 of thr FNM conventions in terms of production and the journalist can't wait for the speakers to jump:bouncy: in front of the camera to ramble on

it was him
it was BK
he was weak
he didnt stand his ground
he should have fought the good fight and screamm to the Bahamian people and let us know the real deal...but then again this is hindsight and it is 20/20 and hindsight is a B!tch!

Here is a little more police n politics for ya.

You would have seen the new people wearing police uniform patroling downtown bay street. There is also one in the middle of bay and east street directing traffic under a perfectly working light.
These officers are what they are calling Tourist patrol police.
Please memebers of this board let me warn you, these people are not police offciers IMO, they can be identify by the C ahead of thier number.
The reason i dont consider them police is because how they got their job. They were sent to the college from their MP and was given 2 weeks(yess thats right folks 14 days) training and put out their to the public. I can see why people dont respect the police uniform cause if you have people on the job with 14 days of training they are an accident waiting to happen.:cop:
While i have no problem of the police being their to deal with tourist, i think they should be just that Full police officers not people who an MP gave a job to for election points.:hot:
In fact a few of these officers have been in the hands of the LAW before and now they dawn the uniform
S**T IS WACK.

Just you wait folks this is a timebomb:hot:
Lastly they are not regulated under the Police Act, so basically they dont have to be disciplined.:dgi:

I experienced a similar problem coming from Miami on Bahamasair. I got to the checkin counter about 30 mins before departure and the agent told me that the flight was already closed so she could not check me in. While I stood at the counter a lady tourist came rushing to check in. She had a connecting flight with Bahamasair but her flight arrived late. The agent called the supervisor who authorized her to put the tourist on the flight. I was happy because I know if they reopen the flight I may get on. Unfortunately the lady tourist did not had the necessary documents she needed so Bahamasair could not accept the ticket she was traveling on. Two minutes later Mr. Leslie Miller and a lady came rushing in. He shouted to the agents that he has to get on this flight because he had to be in parliment. The supervisor went over and checked him and the lady in. "What about me Miss"? I asked the supervisor, but she told me that Mr. Miller is travelling on the next flight and she returned to her office. The agent who was serving me came over and asked me for my ticket. She said she does'nt have the authority to reopen the flight but she checked me in on the next flight and ask me to go to the departure gate. Her supervisor checked Mr. Miller on the flight that was departing. The agent told me when Mr. Miller and his lady friend board I must follow them and insist that the supervisor put me on the flight. On my way to the gate I passed Mr. Miller at the news stand. When I reached the flight was already boarded and the supervisor was only waiting for Mr. Miller. Finally he arrived and she boarded him and his friend. I walked up to the supervisor and asked "What about me"? She took my ticket and asked me if I checked in bags for the next flight. I told her yes and she said she is sorry but I have to travel on the flight with my bags, FAA regulations she said. My bags and I arrived on the next flight.

Yeah i noticed that, i mean the light works and they arent cutting down on traffic so its yet another pointless thing .. kind of like those day time traffic stops they do every few months to look good or so they think .. actually i was thinking when i saw them on that box in the middle of the road, man thats like suicide, trusting our nassau drivers NOT to knock you down off the block !!! Ha ha .. man most drivers in nassau cant even take a corner ...

They need to have those guys go patrol the Jitneys, the taxis, and people not crossing on the pedestrian crossings, who are the ones causing the traffic congestion, fine them big time .. or move the road as its the only one on that side of the island to get west to east .. same goes for shirley street ..

WELL AGAIN IT SEEMS I AM GIVING MY VIEWS ON A TOPIC OF INTEREST.:sparky: I AM ALSO A POLICE AND BELIEVE THAT WE NEED TO CHANGE ALOT OF THINGS THAT IS NOT RIGHT WITHIN THE FORCE AND IT MUST START WITH THE TOP DOWN TO THE BOTTOM.:hammer: I AM ALSO FRUSTRATED WITH THE WAY THE TOP TEAM HANDLES MATTERS BUT BECAUSE OF THE PULL WITHIN THIS COUNTRY WE ARE NOT ABLE TO VOICE OUR CONCERNS. :sparky: SADLY IF WE DO NOT DO SOMETHING WE ARE IN A BAD SITUATION WHICH WOULD MEAN A DESTRUCTIVE PATH FOR OUR KIDS :raw: . CHANGES HAVE TO COME AND IT MUST START RIGHT NOW OR WE IN TROUBLE. I JOINED:cop: WITH THE INTENTION OF HELPING PEOPLE TO SEE A BETTER TOMMORROW BUT REALIZED THAT THERE ARE PERSONS WHO DO NOT MEAN THE POLICE FORCE NO GO FR0OM TOP TO BOTTOM:hot:

Thats why we could say its not what we know but who we know in this country, if we living by the law lets live by the law and not if you do i crime and I no someone in the front line I get off :hammer: no no this is wrong and somebody have to clean it up:hot:
