I think that everyone who reads my post realize that i am a police, so what i am about to say is not Romours however i will not use names.

A car on patrol in the yellow elder gardens pulled over a vehicle and searched the occupants, During the search the occupants were found to be in possesion of some drugs. While the police was conducting the search they were approach by a MP who instructed the officers to let them go. The officers refuse and this angered the MP who asked them if they dont know who he is eh?? They refused and continued the searching of the vehicle. The MP the calls a Supt of Police and told him that some polices are harrasing his clients. He then asked to speak to the officers and he told the officers to let the fellas go. The officers upon receiving the instructions was about to let him go when an Assistant Superintendent of Police intervine and told them to take that man to the nearest station where they will be arrested for possesion of dangerous drugs.
Now you know why the country is in the downward spiral it is in now :cop:

Wish those offices involved would call names!! That is the only way for this mess to stop. Expose them!

Of course that would mean bad news for the offiers who were only trying to do their jobs......

At some point the commissioner of police got to do what he have to do irregardless of the possible outcome; any body who interferes in the police carrying out his lawful duty-no matter his position- should be charge and made to account for his or her actions. Only when this happen our crime and moral morass will change. It is sickening what goes down in the bahamas. But i encourage the police to keep a stiff upper lip and continue to do your lawful duty.Remember that 'the mills of God they grind slow but they grind exceedingly fine'.

WELL AGAIN IT SEEMS I AM GIVING MY VIEWS ON A TOPIC OF INTEREST.:sparky: I AM ALSO A POLICE AND BELIEVE THAT WE NEED TO CHANGE ALOT OF THINGS THAT IS NOT RIGHT WITHIN THE FORCE AND IT MUST START WITH THE TOP DOWN TO THE BOTTOM.:hammer: I AM ALSO FRUSTRATED WITH THE WAY THE TOP TEAM HANDLES MATTERS BUT BECAUSE OF THE PULL WITHIN THIS COUNTRY WE ARE NOT ABLE TO VOICE OUR CONCERNS. :sparky: SADLY IF WE DO NOT DO SOMETHING WE ARE IN A BAD SITUATION WHICH WOULD MEAN A DESTRUCTIVE PATH FOR OUR KIDS :raw: . CHANGES HAVE TO COME AND IT MUST START RIGHT NOW OR WE IN TROUBLE. I JOINED:cop: WITH THE INTENTION OF HELPING PEOPLE TO SEE A BETTER TOMMORROW BUT REALIZED THAT THERE ARE PERSONS WHO DO NOT MEAN THE POLICE FORCE NO GO FR0OM TOP TO BOTTOM:hot:

The office of the Commisioner is a constitutional office if I am not mistaken so the holder of that office does not answer to any politician, including the PM. I guess they like to choose wimps for these jobs so that they can control them.

Ah boy, we would like to think that heh. But eventhough they don't have to answer to anyone, when a Commissioner goes against the Government, they have a way of getting rid of him- its called keeping his hands tied. By cutting his budget and not giving him the resources he needs, the government now forces the COP to break or yield. How you think the FNM got rid of BK! You think he wanted to leave- Bahamians don't give up power! When Paul took over, all kinds of new iniaitives were implemented, moral was high and crime was low. Since 2002, the only thing new the force got was Urban Renewal, and we all know they aint doing nuttin cause crime still high in those areas. They also cut his budget, and promoted their cronies-none of whom he can control by the way, who are only killin the moral of the force. So being the MAN that he is, I feel that if the PLP regains power(God forbid) he would resign. There is only so much sh!t a man can take!:realmad:

I believe that if the Commissioner was unhappy about anything he should step up and say so..force the governments's hand..go on the radio..if he is sincere the people will support him. But it takes guts to that.

Let me start from the initial thread: In it you are implicating that an ASP over-ruled a Superintendant and if the MP called the " Super" how was the ASP informed or came into the picture. I am not disputing the principal that these sort of things with MP's happen but it should be properly told to the board. For example, I am a frequent traveller to the islands, 99% of the times I travel on Bahamasair, I am very well known amongst the agents, security personell etc. About a week ago I was going thru security after being checked-in at the Bahamasair counter and the security person requested to see my ID, which I showed the young lady whom I knew and knew me from centreville primary school days over 25yrs ago, the person in my travel party, an elderly professional didnt have his ID which he mistakenly forgot in his car after being dropped to the airport that morning, he too travels frequently, even more than I do, the security told him he would not be able to go thru, behind us was the honourable Minister of Sports travelling to Freeport on that first flight, UP315, which had already made its first boarding call, waiting on my colleague being within 5 feet of the security officer and the Minister, she ask him for an ID, his reply was: "you dont know who I am", the young lady who grew up off East street in the Strachans Corner area nodded negatively, then the honourable Minister of Sports replied " I am a Minister of your Governtment, smiled, give the security a slight hug and went through, astonished and angry my colleague and I went to a supervisor and explained what had just happened, she then ask the security lady to let my colleague through this time, but said he must have his ID the next time. My colleague in question travels to and from the islands on Bahamasair at least 4 times a week, so if he must have an ID the next time what happen to the Minister, if there is a diplomatic excuse for him or them, then they should be in possession of their diplomatic documents, not everyone know who they are, many people dont give an iota to care who they are, but this just goes to show how these people think and behaves once they are elected to public office to serve. The key word "SERVE", but we put them on this pinnacle and they forget that they are "SERVANTS" of the people. And there are many others like the honourable minister of sports who forget " from whence they came". I mean for so many of them this is their first term in the Honourable house of Assembly and their behave is just totally unacceptable, who too blame. Their head, the Rt. Hon. PM

there is nothing "honourable" about wisdom, or our pm either!
