I dont get it, even if they dont care about another persons life, at least they would be scared to get caught and goto prison?? They should execute the person that stabbed him though.

Last time I heard, they still did not catch the guy who actually STABBED the young man, however, they caught those who were involved w/ the beating.
I was told today they caught the one that stabbed him, but might be wrong, though it came from a good source, they said he was crying all the way to the court ?

bahmaboy 10-24-05, - 06:29 PM The worst thing about the situation was the reaction of the people, the security, the owners, and the police. It was disgusting to see how people surrounded this man and watched him lay in his blood for about 5-10 minutes until they were told to back off by the passive security. How nonchalant everyone’s reaction was to a bleeding body lying at the exact spot they were just previously dancing in. How a young girl (probably his girlfriend) was crying her eyes out with nobody to help her. How the security and owners did not make their presence felt in a club that was just itching to get out of control. How the police/paramedics just strolled into the club and turned this man over to show all the rest of the people in the club (me included) this man’s stab wounds. How people hung out outside the club to see more drama instead of worrying about retaliation by more serious means like a gunshot.
It’s like everyone was just so amused of the drama they just witnessed and could not care that a man was possibly dead over something stupid like a beer or a woman.
Its not a Bahamian thing, its not the reggae music thing, its not the set legal drinking age….…its called lack of self dignity and respect.
I am sorry I believe it is a bahamian thing. It still baffles me how something will go down, then someone will come runnin in and say "yall so and so crew say they comin back to mash things up." and somehow this statement draws more of a crowd. When I was in school there the crowd didnt run away from the fight, they ran towards it. all you could see is loon teet and rubber necks amoung the spectators. on one trip there we were in a store, and a junsor outside was being attacked by about 5 other jonser lookin dudes with cutlasses and rocks. the store owner locked the door, everyone in the store clamor towards the windows to see, from what I made out by the traffic people was just watchin. maybe this is the attitude that is being carried over into adulthood.
It is sad for all but how did the weapon get in the club in the first place?
they werent using metal detectors, i was there that night and entered twice and only got frisked very basic, they didnt even notice the huge lump of keys in my back pocket!

I could be wrong, but I believe this kind of hands-off, non-involvement attitude we have here was ingrained in us by our various governments!
You get involved and do or say something the powers that be don't like, then you and your family will get victimised to the ends of the earth!!! This has destroyed public opinion in this country!!!
That is why I like Bahamas Issues so much -- you can express yourself frankly and openly here!
Don't recall if victimization was so rampant during the UBP years, but I believe it was invented by the PLP -- Ommmmmmmmm! Right, Marichal?

Prince Kassad 10-26-05, - 09:47 AM trust me, when they dont play reggae, then they dont get that crowd. But if they had control of the club then the violence could have been avoided. Waterloo never used to be a club that attracted gang members, it is only when they play reggae, which seems to be more and more now, hey they have to make money right .. we used to leave that for Cocktails, the Zoo, and others.
by the way i was probably the only conchy joe there .. didnt ya see me? :o
I was looking for tourist chicks though, Guess i missed them that night ..;-)
Rory waterloo is usually filled up with kids from 14 to 22 for some reason i thought you were older than that :D
This incident was started over a young lady (probably the same girl that was crying). She is an ex and had set him up for a good beat down but never thought it would end up like this.
The murder has now spark an old blood war between fox hill and Kemp road. As there has been several attacks on fox hillians since the murder.
:screw:

Sad situation...I hope not...
But, I guess we shall know by tomorrow!
michali 10-26-05, - 11:01 PM Yes, the news is that she died....very sad. Apparently, the police are not yet saying it was murder but the report was that she was brutally attacked by a man known to her. Sounds like yet another domestic incident. There is so much anger in so many people. How are we going to deal with it?
