View Full Version : Strippers and prostitution
Ummm, remember what these cabinet members a forgetting is that the Bahamas is suppose to be a christian nation (remember i wrote which they are forgetting), so if they stick by that stripping should not be allowed.
Also I heard on the news one morning when they was talking about this smae thing, stripping is not illega, but public solicitacion (check spelling) is. So technically they were in a building so they were noy wrong. So that is the loop whole, so thats why they probally went off free,

Actually I heard they got a business licence for a Caberet, but didnt pay off the right person is all .. :shaky:
gian_18778 10-19-05, - 09:52 PM In a private setting, yes. As long as such facilities are regulated tightly and there is no explotiation of underaged individuals, and their is no sex between patrons and workers, b/c it then becomes a brothel. Nassau however does not need to be teaming with strip clubs and like establishments. We dont need to become an official 'sin city'.
Tight regulation.....in the Bahamas????? Not going to happen!
The only thing that has been tightly regulated in the Bahamas in the last 32yrs, was the constant oppression of the average Bahamian in this country!!!
:hot:
bahmaboy 10-20-05, - 02:02 AM I don't think bahamian society would be that segmented. After watching strippers for awhile, you began to realize that the probability of obtaining any of what you are seeing and fantasing about is remote or impossible especially since you already threw all your dollar bills in the 'H Bank'!: and had a few lap dances. Most men will eventually tire of lusting after something they can not have and move on or their patronage to such establishment would greatly deminish.
i feel the same way about HOOTERS

Now here lies the problem, the police already said that we are going to keep closing these clubs where ever they open. But that to mean is silly because if the law is not backing you, then you will get sued. We need the Cabinet to pass the law to deal with this matter if we are to take action or some of our religious leaders are going to cause us pay some big money.
PS: For a PM who is always quoting scripture, i would have thought he would have mentioned something about this already.:bored:

Hooters priced killed them,
$100.00 for hot wings :uh:
Vicky 10-20-05, - 03:56 PM Now that would be a true example of equality and civil freedom, but even if "hell was to freeze over" and something like that was to happen, our Sundays would be then be divided into two distinct segments: The men hanging out in the strips clubs, while all the women and children are in church.
Well its useless to force someone to go to church. Especially if they want to be some where else.

Ok, so it is ok for us to strip in a private home, have people come in to watch, pehaps tip us well for fried fish tidbits and it is legal?
OK boys, lets get a show together for the audience.
Perhaps a new strip club will open soon for the ladies.....LOL

hmmm.. to my knowledge you will not find a specific 'law' saying we are a christian nation. afterall, if it were a law, how could we ensure freedom of (other religions)??? this is where people confuse things. the preamble of the bahams constitution affirms that we are a country built on christian principles...thats fundamentally different from being a christian nation.

The cops just tried to close down Cocktails last night, I just finished downloading and burning an hour of video for the owner, to take to court or whatever they need it for, though they have a copy also on tape.
Basically some moron inspector couldnt read and thought the club didnt pay its licencing, so he came there with a bunch of cops with vests and guns and started running people out of the club. I havent looked at the whole video yet, but at the beginning I can see them telling people to leave and a whole bunch of people leaving through the front door.
Meanwhile the licence is in fact was straight. Owner had to come down and sought it out, club stayed open but half of the people there had already been run out by the cops, under direction of mr King Pin Cop. Apparently the other cops were embarrassed as they knew their boss had made a mistake.
Funny thing was I was just there last night fixing a camera, before this all happened. Now i know why I dont go out partying anymore ...trouble comes looking for me ..
Ting-um 10-21-05, - 07:37 AM 1. If the Government can't or shouldn't legislate morality then we should burn our law books. Most of our laws, even structure and presence of Government, were created due to some moral dilemma. So if we follow the logical progression of such a statement it would eventually lead to the disintegration of social order. Many would argue that we aren't very far off right now. I suppose taking steps backwards could be considered evolution.
2. Again with the comparison of these other nations to the Bahamas?? Its not that people are against the idea of strip clubs and prostitution, but what's good for the goose isn't always good for the gander.
