Whatever happened to the CDR and the BDM? Do these two parties still exist or have their leaders been swallowed whole by the PLP? Will there ever be a serious third party contender unless a "break" happens in one of the major political parties?

An interesting point to note is that the "new blood" in the PLP and the FNM seem content to sit back and let the big boys do all the work. When the old guard is on their way out, who will have the balls to pick up the slack? The old guard is keeping their young comrades on lockdown, sitting on their hands no less. What irks me is that these "young-uns" seem content to do so. The power-players in Bahamian politics are handcuffing the future of this nation by refusing to give up control and allowing younger politicians/leaders to be on the forefront, making the decisions that will harden them for future challenges. It would be better for them to step up now and have the old guard to fall back on for advice, just in case.

I guess that they want "young-uns" they can control though. Interestingly enough, if the old guard can control them now, keeping them weak, how strong will they be when they actually have to stand up on their own? Perhaps the young-uns they chose for the job aren't the right ones anyway.

Politics to me is just like Junkanoo. IT only boils down to TWO! Saxons or Valley Boys, FNM or PLP! Don't care who else is in the running. It's just the same thing that plagues this country, CHANGING OUR MIND-SET!!!!!! No matter how innovative, energetic, or creative another *new* party is, they will get place on the back burner because Bahamians for the most part have trouble thinking outside the BOX!!! That's why we'll forever be inside the box pulling one another down!!!!1
