:bahamas:The Bahamas is the third wealthest country in the Caribbean whoever we are becoming a third world nation. Why? Because of us The Bahamian people. The Immigration problem is not a new problem that has just popped up from no where, we always had this problem and because of concern or lack there of by the Bahamian people it is out of control and has reared its ugly head. Because of this one MAJOR damaging problem our other areas of government are suffering. Our Social Services Dept. is suffering because we have these people unable to provide for the many babies that they breed on an annual basis leaving us tax payers to provide for them. The Health Dept. suffers because we are now have the hospital filled with Immigrates for health reasons but mainly to give birth. The Clinics are filled with them receiving FREE medication and medical attention. The schools are now filled with violence due to social and cultural differences (and what some Bahamians would call, "mix-breed") as well as over crowded classrooms leaving students less likely to learn and proving this right by passing through the school system unable to read or write. The Immigration problem is only going to get worse and going to cause a greater strain on our country however, lets not forget the other problems plaguing our country. It is said, "You are only as good as the place that you call home." The Bahamas is our home and the reality is that should something happen to it we have NO WHERE to go. I can think of only one country who allows Immigrants to come as they wish and do as they please and unfortunately that is us so when push comes to shove I don't want anyone to think we will be able to go trodding into American waters or where ever we please. We Bahamians need to fight for our country especially young Bahamians. Its about we forget PLP and FNM and realize that Perry and Hubert on their way out and no I don't mean politically. We are the future and we The Bahamian people need to stop looking to whoever is the Government of The Bahamas to fix our country. This country does not belong to the PLP or the FNM it is our country, our legacy, our home. We need to get up and do what needs to be done. We need to stop encouraging immigrants by hiring them, we need to stop smuggling them in for a quick buck, we need to stop complaining and do something. When I look at the Haitians in particular I see them as very intelligent people, they know how to get our government to work for them. They work the little jobs, they take advantage of any agency in government that allows them to obtain something and they are taking over our schools. What are we the Bahamians doing, sitting back complaining, complaining, and complaining some more.We need to get off our high horses and make it hard for these people. Young people need to become more educated and when I say this I dont only mean to say go to school and get a degree I am saying learn about whats going on with your country, study the laws, pay attention to Cabinet because in order to be educated you must be informed. We must show national pride and love for our country and stop our country from spiralling out of control. I am not a mean cold-hearted person but the reality is if we don't fight for our home NO ONE will. We need to ban together and reclaim our country before we become like Ruwanda, fighting a civil war of Haitians against Bahamian. It is Better In The Bahamas but why are we sitting back waiting for our slogan to be, "IT'S CIVIL-VIOLENCE IN THE BAHAMAS.":screw:
