I had an email come back to me because of the following:
(i deleted email address on purpose)

------------------------------------
The following message to <xxx@xxx.xxx> was undeliverable.
The reason for the problem:
5.1.0 - Unknown address error 550-'5.7.1 your server is listed in the ORDB, see http://www.ordb.org/'
------------------------------------

http://www.ordb.org/faq/#why_rejected

Now we all have to use Coralwave's outgoing server if we are on coralwave, even if we have our own mail servers. So, what next. This tend to mean that people are using Coralwaves outgoing mail server to send spam.

any ideas ?

Not every recieving server has their database or whatever installed, but there has been a few.

There are hosting companies out there that allow you to have alternate SMTP ports.

Or just buy your own server from Serverbeach.com ($79/month) and set it up as a mail server.

Or set up a server at your place with DDNS and use that as your SMTP server instead of Coralwave.

I also have about 150 email accounts that I'll be selling in a short while. All that you have to do is select your own domain name. They come with POP3 access and alternate SMTP sending, as well as secure webmail.

I got my own mail server, not here though, in the US.I see what you are saying though, use my own on another PC on my network ..and change the port from 25?

yep

or just get a program like

http://www.softstack.com/advsmtp.html

or

http://www.qksoft.com/

and send directly from your pc.

Good point. Didn't think of that.

But the ones I mentioned are completely third party.

I know this has nothing to do with the kind of mail you're talking about, but guess what happened to me? I was in Nassau in June and mailed post cards to my family. Guess when they received them........... yesterday! They thought I was gone on vacation again. I've heard of "snail mail" but that is ridiculous.
