View Full Version : Legal Abortion in the Bahamas Rory 11-05-05, - 05:16 PM i've been making an effort to stop taking lives, of cockroaches, flies, etc. I stopped killin' mice a couple years ago :shhh: finekameo 11-05-05, - 05:18 PM No human can give life so what gives them the right to take it away? I speak in regards to innocent life which is that of a child. I just knew this was coming. Now I can see the debate shifting to decide if you abort the pregnancy at one month, is it really alive or not? finekameo 11-05-05, - 05:19 PM that is your opinion. all im saying is give a woman her choice its her body I totally agree with you there. And all I am saying is that since it is the man's sperm that started the process we should give him his choice too. fasttract 04-30-06, - 04:18 PM The need for pro-choice legislation is evident. I don’t understand in this day and age why the Bahamas doesn’t allow legal abortion. If you want to see the effects of unwanted and uncared for children, look no further than the bleek crime statistics of this nation. I can hear the demagogues screaming now: “No! Were a Christian nation” or “You could be killing the next Prime Minister” Please give me a break! A woman should have the right to choose if that’s what she wants. It’s just a matter of time. For a Better Bahamas... NO to all pro-choice legislation.abortion is not the answer. just say no and live with your decision.abortion is murder plain and simple. don't let innocence blood be on our hands.fasttract: fasttract 04-30-06, - 04:27 PM I was under the impression that abortion was not legal AT ALL in the Bahamas (unless the mother's life was at risk). I stand to be corrected (because *alas*, even I dont know everything :shhh:)! If this is true, it needs to be changed. Immediately. A woman should have the right to determine whether or not she wants to bring another human being into the world. She should be at liberty to decide whether she wants to pursue a career. At liberty to make a decision whether or not she can financially and emotional support a child. Thats it. As tia said, what we have in the bahamas now (crime-wise), is probably the result of a whole lot of unwanted pregnancies! I will not spend my money in any way to support abortion,if i can help it.to put it simply i am against abortion:Am really surprise that it is legal, and no government funs is used to support this killing act.this should be remove from our book right away.fasttract: WinterGrace 04-30-06, - 04:48 PM I don't know. But there is something about looking into your child's eyes and having that connection with them. It's mind blowing. It's your responsible to protect that child. If you don't want a baby right now then use birth control properly (the pill is 99.9% accurate if used correctly) or don't have sex (this maybe hard for some). Jer 04-30-06, - 05:35 PM My only issue with abortion is the rights of the father. He has none. The decision that the woman makes can affect his and her lives, but only she can make the decision. If she decides to have the baby against his wishes, she can still seek child-support. If she decides not to have the baby against his wishes, he simply has no choice. With respect to the father pro-choice equals no-choice. Apparently, the abortion laws assumes that fathers are valueless. Someone has taken that to a USA court now regarding the issue of a man's right. Shakita 04-30-06, - 07:30 PM I don't know. ITA People needs to learn to take responsabilities, dont matter what others want to make believe, is a life we are talking about. biggy 04-30-06, - 08:48 PM Abortion is probably the most difficult decision a morally and mentally competent woman will ever make in her life. The fact that anyone "other than immediate family or father" should comment on it or legislate it is wrong. Personally- I am anti-abortion,but it is not my choice to make, nor the government's right to ban it.Making abortion a political issue as in the States,is an absurd platform.Excuse me? You are telling her what to do with her body? And who to hell are you? I thought slavery was abolished 150 years ago? It is pure unadulterated BULL SH..T to even suggest that any government should have a position on this issue. Politicians that suggest otherwise are only using it as a way to gather power and votes. No government belongs this close to our personal freedoms! Otherwise none are truly free! Let the concerned parties decide this issue and the government should not be concerned.:hammer: |
