Um, actually. I live here, in the Bahamas. And no, I'm not trying to go against what my elders say. But, I do have a say in what I believe in. No one is ever going to change that. I think it is perfectly fine to be a homosexual. That is MY opinion and no one is going to change that. Yet, all of the older people are trying to say I am wrong for believing that and I'm not a Christian.
How can you say being a homosexual is a sin when, you just allow adultry to go on? It's nothing different. All ya'll are freaking out because, I'm 15 and I have an opinion that ya'll don't like. Nothing will ever change the way I feel about homosexuals. I do not care if I am 30 years old. What would make me change my opnion of them? I've known gays and lesbians. And some of them, you'd never be able to tell that they are gay. SO, what would you do if you had a friend who has gay yet, acted straight? Would you shun them?

Some people just aren't "clockable". It doesn't mean they are pretending to be something they're not. Gays come in many different varieties

Not really ya know. They are gay they choose to be subtle around straight people with the fear of being an outkast. Its hard for someone who is gay to have straight friends because they fear that friend will turn on them. Some people thing that being gay is a disease and that it is catching or that the person will hit on them. Both are not true.

My best friend is gay and in the beginning she always acted "straight". Not meaning that she showed interest in guys, she just never seemed interested. Guys would hit on her and she would smile to be nice but that was it. I picked up on it but never said anything to her because it didnt matter to me. Being gay have nothing to do with her as a person. After she told me I told her to be herself. I saw a difference, she was more relaxed and wasnt afraid to tell the guys that hit on her she wasnt interested.

why is it always someone has 'an issue' when decide they like someone of the same sex? there's nothing wrong with being a homosexual!...unless you are religious - and not everyone is! the laws of God, the bible, the torah, koran, etc...belong to the people who believe these books! not everyone swears by fictitious material! :heartbeat

I have had this discussion with my mother a few years ago. She made a similar statement about smart children falling into a gay lifestyle. That comment irked me then and it still does now. It implies that homosexuality is some type of cult that only the week minded fall into. It also implies that it is a choice. The only choice is in deciding to embrace the lifestyle and come out of the closet.
When I was younger, I convinced myself that I only tried it out because I was curious too. I convinced myself that I only needed extra love or attention as well. Now that I am older and wiser, I know better. I know that it is not true. I know that it was not curiosity, but it simply was how I feel. It was not that I needed EXTRA love or attention because I got more than enough of that from my huge family. I have a great relationship with my brother and I can tell him anything. I have a huge family of aunts and uncles that would always be loving and supportive. My relationship with my dad was great and we would hang out and talk all the time. None of these factors affected anything. It was simply that I was attracted to men, and no matter how many girls I slept with was going to change that.

Homosexuality will always be a contentious subject in The Bahamas because we are very religious. Many Bahamians have no problem sleeping with multiple other partners and a spouse, yet they consider a monogamous homosexual to be a sinner. All those who cite Sodom and Gamorrah should remember that other acts prevalent in that city included bestiality and adultery. I personally feel that homosexuality is wrong and don't condone it, I also don't associate with homosexuals as that is a sure way to be labeled. I do not however believe in persecuting homosexuals even though when I was younger I would probably have done so without a second thought.

On one of the shows a while back addressing the gay cruise ships coming here a talk show had on some gay men. They were assuring everyone how homosexuality is so natural and how they are consenting adults who would never "pick up" young boys or girls. I listened as I was working and heard one guy saying how he had been "in this lifestyle" for over 16 years or some such length of time. I could tell from the person's voice that they had to be kind of young so I called the show and asked the guy how old he was. He obviously thought this was a dude who was interested so was quick to answer. I quickly did the math and I called him on the inconsistency. I asked if you 29 and have been in this lifestyle for 16 years then you have been having sex since 13, yet you say you don't pick up minors well who picked you up. He claimed that he did the picking up but obviously some adult had sex with him at 13. Homosexuals are more likely to prey on minors because they are already committing an act which is looked down on, the fact that they ignore the outrage of the majority to indulge in their acts means that having sex with a 13 year old is only a small swerve compared to the U-turn they have already taken. Many homosexuals do not do this but many others do and they are the real abominations.

I disagree. Why is it that just because sweethearting is widespread mean that "MANY" bahamians accept it? A lot of people are not comfortable with promiscuity or fornication, or adultery. I am not. and several of my peers and the majority of my family arent either.
