I am planning an extended stay on New Providence Island in the new year and want to get an idea of availability and prices of accommodation there. I am interested in a house, town house, or apartment of 2-3 bedrooms, preferably with some outdoor space such as a yard or decent size balcony.

If anyone is familiar with renting in the Nassau area, could you tell me what the rents are for places such as I have described, how available places are, and any places I should look to find available properties.

You can get a two-bedroom apartment in Nassau for about 750 but that may be unfurnished or semi-furnished which means fridge and stove. If you want furnished you may have to pay $900-1000 per month. Townhouses tend to run a bit higher than apartments. 3 bedrooms you are looking at 1200 and up and they are not very avaiulable. You could check the classifieds in the Guardian online (www.thenassauguardian.com). Good luck!
