I extend congratulations to the Rt. Hon. Hubert Alexander Ingraham on his election as leader of the Free National Movement and to the Hon. Brent Symonette on his election to the position of Deputy Leader of the Party and also to all party officers who were successful in their bid to hold offices during the recent party election.

The Free National Movement ought to extend sincere thanks and appreciation to Senator, the Hon. Tommy Turnquest for his contributions to the party during his tenure as Leader. However, I believe that the Hon. Senator has some issues that he needs to deal with; in particular, the securing of his seat in the upcoming general election. The same is said for Mr. Dion Foulkes who also lost his seat in the May 2nd, 2002, elections.

I did not have a problem with Mr. Turnquest being leader of the Free National Movement or even Prime Minister of this country. However, once he was defeated in the general elections I couldn’t support him as leader because, when it comes to the role of political leadership, he hadn’t sufficiently proven his worth. He could not speak in the House of Assembly so he couldn’t properly represent/defend his constituents, his party or this country. Mr. Turnquest brought his political career to ruins when he didn’t do the honorable thing and resign as leader after he lost his seat in the last general elections.

We live in a democracy and the electorate has a right to take full advantage of the processes of freedoms that we cherish. They publicly demonstrated their desire to see the return of Hubert Ingraham. The people have spoken. FNM’s have responded to the will of the people. Mr. Ingraham has been returned as leader of the Free National Movement and the country now has, at the very least, a formidable opposition.

There is confusion about this matter when there should not be..Tommy Turnquest led the FNM into the 2002 general elections. After the defeat of the referendum, Hubert Ingraham said publicly that he had one more thing left to do, meaning lead the FNM election campaign. There were howls and screams and he was chased from the fore front. At the last minute he was brought back in a supporting role and made a couple of speeches. After the defeat, Mr. Tennyson Wells publicly said that Mr. Turnquet ran an amateurish campain so obviously he thought that Tooomy T was in charge. I dunno why Bahamainas do not pay attention to what we hear and to what we see. I guess it is laziness. Dems are the facts.

It is a matter of public record that the Hon Tommy Turnquest was the official leader of the FNM during the election of 2002. He was elected as such during an election that was stage at workers house in sept 2001. You would recall, as a result of said election Mr Algernon Allen and Mr Tennyson Wells were defeated and then cried sour grapes. As they would say the rest is history. Mr Hubert Ingraham remain as Prime Minister the remaining months leading up to the election. But for all intent and purpose Tommy Turnquest historically and as leader of the FNM had stand to gain if the FNM had won, and must assume the defeat having lost the election as leader of the FNM. That is the facts. I have no axe to grind with Hon Tommy Turnquest or The Right Honorable Hubert Ingraham.I am merely stating the facts. Plain and simple!

Chicko I beg to differ, Tommy T was never betrayed, what happen at the F.N.M convention was democracy at it's best, in a society where it works. The F.N.M'S had the right and the choice to choose whosoever the felt was more capable of leading their party. Tommy Turnquest was never assured that he would always be the leader. He may have been born in to the party, but that does not and never will give him or anyone else for that matter, the absolute right to be the only leader. In a democracy, the right to choose is one of it's most distinguished features. Let us not talk about about bribes and corruption, the P.L.P came to power on the backs of the poor man wielding the swords of help and hope. Regretfully the drop the sword and lost help and hope. (KOREAN BOAT SCANDEL, SIDNEY STUBBS, LESLIE MILLER, REGISTRA GENERAL, WESTERN AIR, RESIGINATION OF EDISON KEY, COMMISSION AFTER COMMISSION, THREE YEARS LATER NO HEALTH PLAN AS PROMISED IN 120 DAYS. Grand Bahama is at it's lowest point ever, unemployment 10.2 %. Give me a break. The dust that blinded our eyes in 2002 has now cleared.
Last night the Free National Movement publicly and unequivocally declared war on the P.L.P. Wherever every single member of the P.L.P Administration was last night, there were shaking in their boots. The F.N.M WILL NOT BE DISSOLVED, rather they have arisen from their ashes. The battle cry was clearly sounded last night. If the P.L.P believe that their record will speak for them, then, they have nothing to fear. In 1997 the F.N.M had nothing to fear. I can't say the same for the P.L.P. Yes I agree no government is perfect, But they should at least have the ability to govern. Thank God 2007 is almost here!!!!

It is obvious that there are some persons who haven't achieved the ability of comprehending the realm of politics very well. One of the first lessons that one must learn about this phenomenon is that "what goes around comes around." Secondly, it is imperative that all of those persons directly involved in the process be prepared to face the reality of whatever message the electorate promotes be it by way of gossip, radio talk shows, newspaper editorials, etc.

If Tommy Turnquest was betrayed it was by the people and not the Free National Movement simply because it was the people who didn't want him as Prime Minister of this country and, later, as Leader of the Opposition. Sir Lynden said it best: "The voice of the people is the voice of God." Tommy Turnquest should have listened to the people.

Algernon Allen, Pierre Dupuch and Tennyson Wells all have agendas; though not clearly indicated or defined for the general public to recognize their motives, the REALITY of the matter is that they have them. The noise that these men continue to make in the market is merely indicative of gripes that they can't and are not willing to get over. Like spoilt brats they whine and moan because they aren't able to get the toy they want - the position of Prime Minister of this country.

For the man, who's brain is so clouded by rumors that he has convinced himself that the FNM will fall apart, disintegrate or cease to exist, there is a message. Don't be fooled even by your own foolish conclusions. Look at the reality of what is and wisely determine for yourself what is to be. Prepare yourself for the political, economic and social restructuring of this country. Be ready for the next level of governance and direction that The Bahamas is headed in.

Here in lies the reality - Hubert Ingraham is back! The air is stink with political fear and, this time, it is really over!!!

You forgot to mention that the PLp also came into power with a campaign that was "allegedly" funded by the drug boys, and a fellow from over PI who was seeking to have a bank licence restored.... recently one of the drug boys who was released on bail pending extradition has been allegedly been awarded a contract to construct sea walls on the island of Eleuthera......whats more corrupt than that.....:hot: :hot: :hot:
