I cant believe what they are doing now. first off web access has been on and off for the past couple of weeks. NOW, starting Yesterday (Sunday) they are blocking users using any SMPT mail server other than their own! This is outrages! I now have to change all my outgoing mail servers to mail1.coralwave.com, and they can monitor all outgoing email now.
I dont know about anyone else, but if they do not fix this issue, im finding another ISP. I dont pay for my own mail server, not to be able to use it properly! Cable Bahamas is going to the dogs now, from recent experiences. Does anyone know who else is doing reasonable broadband now? DSL, NetBahamas Satelite?

I also have recurring problems with my clients and their Static IPs. Yet another issue.

I dont know what kind of 'upgrade' they did or are doing, but it is more of a 'DOWNGRADE' instead!!

This is what happens when you have clueless people managing routers.

DSL is going to be close to useless unless you go with a business account. Logging in to a home user account requires a PPPoE connection, plus a web page based login. On top of the login hassle, then NAT all connections, so VPNs, some ftp, most video, etc will be blocked. A business account will give you a public routable IP address, but with a cost premium.
netBahamas is going through some turmoil right now, with a change of ownership and technical team. Only time will tell how they look.
Satellite is not an option afaik. Too slow, bandwidth caps on downloads, 500ms+ of latency etc.

For the time being, Cable Bahamas is the best of the worst.

Just signed up a local business using Video over Ip with 2 static IPs, will let you know how it is. Only $105 per month compared to cable's $250 per month. Speed is close enough not to recognise any major differences, but will let you know on this.
