ok! good, now that ive got your attention!

I just wrote something on another thread (race card in politics), and i had an idea to try and lighten up things on the subject of politics.

you know how we bahamians dont really follow through with researching the sh!t that politicans say? you know how we just jump on the bandwagon and go with the majority? well i think esp. now, given the birth of 'salt and pepper duo', lots of garbage will fall out of the mouths of MANY....so lets make a list! lets make a list of all of the fallacies and stupid things we have heard people say since the conventions began. quotes that have no basis! quotes that are pure rubbish! it'll be like the on-line version of das my five cents! ...well almost - at least it will be funny! i'll start:

the PLP might be playing the race card, but so is the FNM when they talk about all these drug-dealers

Come like they forget about the DPM & his nephew who he was letting build that hotel in Long Island aye? Ohh I get it it's the PLP's fault.FYI: If you check the background of people in both parties you WILL find some sort of invovlement in drugs. But we all know Bahamains dn't read and the FNM is a party of Lairs (not saying the PLP innocent).

Oooh I wanna play! :bouncy:

I would like to share my favorite quotes so far.

PLP's are like tea bags, ya put us in hot water and we only get stronger - The Honourable Cynthia "Mother" Pratt (she forgot that it is the tea which gets stronger, the tea bag actually gets weaker)

If you ask Dr. Marcus Bethel, he will tell you that too much salt gives you high blood pressure and too much pepper gives you indigestion - The Honourable Fred Mitchell (Best comeback for the salt and pepper Symonette/Ingraham analogy - what can you expect from such an eloquent fellow though)

"If any udda person try tell ya uddawise, DEY LIE, I tell ya dat!" - The Honourable Hubert Ingraham (Best Bahamian dialect in a delivered line of a convention speech and probably the best advance comeback against the PLP convention)

I heard a quote on the radio as few days ago, not from a politician - I hope. But from a fellow citizen. Asked if he thought an election would be close, he said

"Well, yes it would because, 50% of the people support the PLP. 50% support to FNM. 30% are Independent and all the rest have not made up their minds."

I hope that was not my accountant!!!!

That's about right...

While ya'll might t'ink das a case of "countin' like sperrit", the caller made an interesting point. I know plenty people wid both parties' paraphernalia (who go to both conventions to get free t'ings) and some who might make you believe that they are one or the other, but will only vote independent.

Some o' we Bahamians finicky ya know. At times it all boils down to who treats us better that election year. :friday:

But we all know Bahamians don't read and the FNM is a party of Lairs (not saying the PLP innocent).

I read and I am Bahamian so that is a generalized statement, and its false!
read between the lines. nothing is ever what it seems.

"I cannot imagine that the "salt and pepper" combination, especially the "salt" in that combination, having any desire or any interest to meet the concerns of workers" - The Honourable Shane Gibson

"Tonight I wish to charge him with failure to secure his own seat as deputy leader and I also charge him for handing it over, not to an FNM to a UBP - and I tell you brother, the Bahamian people aint going back there...God forbid that they should win and something were to happen to Hubigetty, that we would be back in the hands of the UBP." - The Honourable V. Alfred Gray (referring to former FNM deputy leader Sidney Collie)

The FNM "overlords" are asking for practices that have been denounced all over the world from places as far as South Africa - The Honourable Leslie Miller (implying that the FNM supports racial discrimination practices)

The Hypocrisy on this board is so thick you could cut it with a knive.I guess nobody noticed that the stupidest comment of the new election era came from the FNM today in denying their leaders HUGE salary. If it is a lie WTH ya gatta go to parliment to change the act. Anyhow let me leave yall to yinna lies & untruths, cause I'm still in mourning after getting my head stood up in a meeting today. Boi I tell ya Politricks is a dirty game.
