Well, I see alotta responses to my post.
I wish they would allow me to do some polls, but anyway.
Yeah, in response to someone who posted to me earlier about arrogance, sure you can post what you like, it is a free country, but it would be nicer if you would debate in a more civilized and meaningful manner while still expressing your views. But whateva style u like, go for it!

Hi Mr Speaker, just one point I'd like for you to bear in mind, seeing that you are young and plan to vote for the first time.

Just watch these Bahamian politicians -- while they are campaigning I mean they are so nice and humble and considerate, etc, but after they are elected and serve a couple years in parliament, they become bigetty and arrogant, as if they own the whole world! This is just one of the reasons well thinking Bahamians become fed up with most of them!

Now we the public have to learn how to train these servants of ours and make them dismount their high horses!:gi:

Right Marichal!?

Mr. Speaker, what respect is the PLP showing to our youth in Grand Bahama?
NONE !!!!!
What about Grand Bahama?
The people are SUFFERING:mad
NO JOBS,

I agree Son of the Bahamas, They dont show one ounce of respect, for the Youth, the elderly, or those in between. He needs to wake up and see whats going. I work at a hotel in freeport and every day young fellas asking me to help them find a job. They just wander around aimlessly, with nothing to do, some with kids to feed, then we wonder why they holding us up by gunpoint and our lovely women are sleeping with someone elses husband to pay the rent, mortgage, or car note, so the bank wont take it in the middle of the night. Sounds like you Mr. Speaker are trying to sell ice to eskimos, in the middle of winter and instead you could sell that Horse S@!t that you talking by the barrel and keep fuel cost down.

For starters, in 3 1/2 years of PLP government, they have construted over 850 homes in their housing program, compared to the FNM's 120 in 10 years.
The external reserves was just 200 million when the FNM left office in 2002, now it is over 800 million.
These are just a few, but I am not trying to suggest that the FNM did nothing for the country, cause that ain true either, but the PLP has done pretty good for 3 1/2 years.
And I can't support as I said , the FNM, for their disrespect for the youth.

OK, basically you are talking from the PLPs speaking points. Truth is Tommy T has never until now enjoyed so much PLP support. Maybe you all should go to Mt. Moriah and vote for TOMMY T. I think TOmmy has risen high in the FNM, today in our country as a young man he has held an high office. He has every opportunity to hold on to it, if he losted it you cannot think that the FNM just goes out and hand out or make leaders. Sure Hubert supported him, sure Hubert ran agains him. I firmly believe that if Tommy could have won he should have won. SO, like many other, I do support the FNM cause they went to convention and ws not farid to have a vote on the leadership question. Unlike the PLP who did not allow a vote because they said they did not want no disunity. Well, we all know what happened at the last PLP leader ship convention. Just ask Portia Nottage.

Mr Speaker you are one good ole boy....
You are oN the ball at an early age, and i pray you dont burn out and lose your steam!

Assuming you are a young fella....keep up the good work!
But...like i do all the time, i must give fair and balanced criticism!!

I allways thought the FNM were more youth oriented, by nature of the revolution and all that!
The PLP has not given us any youthful exuberant personality to the extent the FNM has tried...I mean Christie and those guys are old as dirt!

The FNM gave Tommy T and that bunch a chance......they had a good try at changing the hearts of the Bahamian people to getting on their bandwagon, and we kept tellin em NO NO NO...we dont want your leadership..at least not yet....why dont we respect the Bahamian voter??
It isnt the FNM that put Hubert back....sub-consiously they were forced to by the Bahamian public becasue we dont want Tommy T and them in full control....We still respect the fact that Ingraham was leader for over 8 years, we are attracted to his expereince and forceful nature.

The FNM "if they wanted to win" was right to put Ingraham back, it was their only chance at winning at least an extra seat in parliament this lap around.

And it isnt like they put the same old goons back in the forefront....(Moxey,CA Smith, Bostwick's, Tiny T, Watson, Allen and the rest of the old FNM guard)
It is Hubert "the old guy" the only old guy!
Tommy T, Dion Foulkes, Brent Symonette, Carl Bethel......and the rest of the house that is in right now who arent exactly old guys Al Smith and the crew are not old heads!
These are the core cabinet members if the FNM...errr..:gi: HUBERT wins again.....and that is still youth if you beleive it or not!!

But with all of that...it shows the desperation of the FNM, by realizing that they have not the talent to beat the PLP other than their first Ace card in 1992....
That is what I feel
:bahamas:

p.s
The torch bearers is and was allways more vibrant than the young liberals!

I agreed with your orginal point still. The PLP has the same do nothing old leadership team. FNM's had the opportunity and did allow a vote on its leadership, the country now will be faced with that opportunity to choose if they want to or do not want them. That is also a valid point.

But the PLP refused and repressed th question completely, coming out with what they term a unity convention. In my view vintage PLP methods, suppress the youth and put for a falacy of unity.

Whatever happened to he disgust of persons like Koed Smith who wanted to topple Raynard Rigby as Chairman. Whatever happened to other persons who aspired to hold high office in that party but for back room deals and this false premis of unity were not even allowed to present themselves to the convention. I fell that this was an afront and a shame in our politics of today.
