For the third time, during the past 3 and 1/2 years, the News papers are reporting that finally the Straw Market is under construction... The other two times, I am not sure what had happened to have made the construction stop...But I watching this time to see if it will stop again... But didn't Bradley Roberts said in a speech recently that construction wouldn't start until late 2006. I wonder what prompted this early construction... I say early election!

How long ago did this market burn down?

Not long before the World Trade Center was hit. 2001?

When I have guests visiting with me - some from the far-flung corners of the world - they all want to see the straw market! They have heard about it. When they see it now, they are a little disappointed that it is nothing more than a vagabond's tent!

I remember when the Straw Market was on the Wharf instead of on Bay Street like 20 years ago. I'm not sure why they moved it from there. But for the sake of congestion and logistical purposes they should move it back. Have the buses line up on the wharf rather than clutter bay street. And I suggest having the tourists shuttled in those golf carts up and down bay street -- the traffic is slow moving enough that they wouldn't be too bothersome.

The people always gets the government that they elected. Image, Leslie Miller in charge. Since May 2, 2002 we have been in trouble, it is only now that many Bahamians are now seeing it.

The market needs to be built, but over the last few years should not we had made some serious decisions as to where is should be built. I beleive where they are building it will present lots of problems. '

I do not feel that the PLP is serious but election is in the air and the PLP need to please the over the hill voters.

Ha that joke we call a straw market. I have never went in the straw market in my life, and it doesnt seems like i'm missing much. Whenever I pass it I just shake my head.
