Can our Island Nation afford to have an OPEN door policy to Religious groups that are controversial and promote hatred against other religions?
The CIA world factbook www.cia.gov lists The Bahamas Religion as:
Baptist 32%, Anglican 20%, Roman Catholic 19%, Methodist 6%, Church of God 6%, other Protestant 12%, none or unknown 3%, other 2%
I interpret this information to mean that we are a Christian Nation.
ISLAM followers consider us CHRISTIANS INFIDELS and all INFIDELS are enemies of ISLAM.
How Has the Local Christian Church failed the NEW converts to Islam that they choose to embraced such movement?
The Bahamas make up is changing........Is it for the better?

Maybe because they fail to explain mark 13.32? how neither the son(the second part of the trinity) nor any man(Jesus was a man on earth) knows the day of judgement. But somehow he is God?
You asked, "How concern should we be with Islam's ties to terrorists and the New Mosque in Nassau." Well, IF they have ties to terrorist then they are worth keeping an eye on but from what I know of Islam not all of its followers are terrorists.
As for the new Mosque? It looks great! I welcome the opportunity for people to explore other religions. After all Christianity and Islam worship the same God. They just do it differently!
You went on to say, "ISLAM followers consider us CHRISTIANS INFIDELS and all INFIDELS are enemies of ISLAM." Some followers do, but not all. After all, some Christians in the not so far ago past believed that it was their God given right to muscle in on anyone they wished, in God's name of course.
You asked, "How Has the Local Christian Church failed the NEW converts to Islam that they choose to embraced such movement?" You really have to ask? The church has fail more that those who have gone over to Islam! Thousands more. If you really want to know read some of the threads in the religion section. There is some bitter blood there!
"The Bahamas make up is changing........Is it for the better?" You ended your post with that question. Yes, it is for the better. As we grow, we change. When we stop growing we die, then we don't change.

Just as concerned as a follower of Christ would be about the atrocities...both accomplished and in development in the name of The Lord Yeshua Bar Yoseph by certain denominations who define themselves as "Christian."

i'm not a muslim but i am aspiring to be enlisted into the nation of islam eventually (even though they are not considered orthodox) and already my family has shown objection but it's my choice and i don't think anyone should be stopped from taking part in their religion because a few of the populace doesn't agree with it or lives in fear for whatever reason. we have freedom of affiliation and speech and even though i dont like what a lot of people have to say i still respect the fact that they have the right to say it. a religion being controversial is no reason for it to be banned it just means that it's misunderstood in 90% of the cases.
Vicky 09-05-03, - 03:34 PM Hi Priscilla what a narrow-minded person you are. Have you ever left the Bahamas to see any other part of the world? Do you have any clue as to the history of Christian vs. Islam?
People like you pray on other people lack of knowledge. You create fear, which leads to violence.
Muslims have every right to hate Christians. I was Christians that murdered their men women and children. Its how they built a big part of the Vatican. Which was then the only denomination of Christianity. Christian soldiers would destroy whole Muslim cities killing every one men women and children and taking the spoils of war back to the Vatican. Claiming they were spreading the word of Christ. Yeah right. Not to mention all the other atrocities done to the human race in the name of Christ. Christian fundamentalist/fanatics are just as bad as another religion. They all work on people ignorance to create fear, which leads to violence.
I am very grateful that we have freedom of religion here in the Bahamas even if most would not accept me for who I am we can still pray as we choose.
"How Has the Local Christian Church failed?" Its has become a religion of greed for money and power. Check out the big churches how many poor can sit up front. Check out the big homes of the pastors/revs. vs. the poor around oh and by the way if you really check into it this is why Sodom was destroyed. Their inhospitality to the poor, travelers and women just to name a few. If you want the Bible verses I will be more than happy to send them or even post them here if you like.

True Christians have no need to fight and kill because God fights our battles and we have already won. You however are in a position where only the Grace of Jesus Christ is keeping you alive. You have no one to fight your battles and thus you are vulnerable to anything.
True Christians have no need to fear anyone especially Muslims.
If I was to fear any group then my God must be dead and I know that He is not.
You however have everything to fear. But thats just my belief

Psalms 91 pretty much answers it all:
"1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
9 Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet."
And about the New Mosque on Carmichael.....
Its a five minute walk away from my home.
I know almost all the Muslims who live there and one of them I attended school with. In-fact; another one of them is teaching me the Arabic language (which I intend to use for the growth of the Kingdom).
I also have a friend in Sudi who is a member of this site: http://www.bahamasissues.com/member.php?s=&action=getinfo&userid=14 . He is a Muslim also.
All of them know that I am a Christian and we still have a good relationship.
By the way... There are no churches in Sudi Aribia.
Makes ya think doesn't it?
All and all, I have found many of them to be very nice people but like you said CG: "If you look for the bad in people you will find it".

Agreed.
P.S. ROTFLMAO. This is beyond castigation now, come now Delroy, you mean you not only want to control how I say what I say, but how MUCH I say?

o3parietal,
Maybe you should ask me what the problem is before you make assumptions. As you may have noticed; the site is being upgraded and re-designed. I have to manually reinsert all of the settings back to where they were with the old site. Then the word count will be back to normal.
I have no need to control you because I can clearly see that someone else already has that job.

LOL, traded in your sense of humor for the 'supernatural' ability to dish out potshots? Your "god" has taught you well.
I made no assumptions Delroy (Wow, you mean I can actually type that word!?) Clearlyplaced in my response is a well known online abbreviation there: "ROTFLMAO."
Perhaps you should endeavor to stay more informed about chatroom/bbs jargon. As The One I serve would suggest,"Study to show thyself approved."
Should be a good day today! I am going to learn something new. What does ROTFLMAO stand for? My chat room vocabulary is limited. I look to you to enlighten me. :)

Hi Delroy I am not afraid I my not even afraid to face my Creator. You see the Creator made me what I am and I have learned to accept that. I have also learned that blind faith is worse than ignorance.
Back to it I was only stating historical fact. How quickly we believe in a faith just because everyone else does it’s a kind of brain washing we grow up with. It’s one thing to say you believe but it’s to know and understand why you believe. To know the history of the religion and the history of the writings which you study and follow is just as important.
I was once one of the ones that had blind faith and I lived in disgust of myself and guilt. I came very close to ending it all. Lucky I was found before it was to late. But I lived in depression until 35 when I went to my first Transgender convention in Atlanta. There I met Dr’s medical and psychiatric learned about my self and others. I even meet a Russian orthodox priest and a Baptist minister (who had her own church). I spent hours talking with them. The night before the end of the convention I cried (I mean I CRIED) for 2 hours (give or take minutes) in my wife arms, Yes she was with me then to. I found out that this is called purging. This said I have been studying Christianity not just the faith.
Oh and I did some study in other religions as well.
Thanks Joe! In one move you enlightened me above and beyond my expectations. Thanks again. That info will be useful.
