Lord is there anywhere else in the world that goes all out like here? From the doves set free to the motorbike detail...No wonder parents dont have any money? I cant wait to have my girls so they can be apart of this true Bahamian experience.

If they had started that nuter program we would not have this sort of foolishness.

Those parents should have been nutered before having children, it may not be to late to start tho any one in school with a gpa below 3.0 on a 4.0 scale should be nutered, end of story.

Prom is an american thing, so there arent many other countries that have it anyway.

With the national grade average as despicable as it is, I think Ministry of Education schools need to stop hosting proms. That's right, stop hosting them, until these kids start getting their acts and priorities together. When half of these kids should be preparing for BJC's and BGCSE's, alot of them are worrying about what colors and design to wear, and what type of car they should show up in.

Any parent that finances prom for a child who didnt manage at least a leaving GPA of 2.5 and at least passed their core BGCSE's with C and higher should be wholly ashamed of themselves.

Proms are not necessary to the academic process. The diligent students would simply have to suffer with the lazy ones. They would get over it.
I am all for the Ministry of Education not facilitating proms in the public schools, until the national grade average is up to at least a C. Lets see how many chicken head parents would be on ZNS making noise about that, but dont make a whimper when their kids can barely write their names.

Come ONNNNNNNN, Proms are an international pastime designed to celebrate the successful "completion" of ones highschool career. Granted improvements are needed in the educational system presently. However not allowing kids to celebrate finishing highschool (by any standard) seems a bit harsh:hot:
How about we address the educational problems before prom, Think of proms as the reward for a JOB WELL DONE> That's probably why parents help their kids put so much into prom>>
So instead of taking something away, like the rewards for effort perhaps we should put more into the schools, into educating, into tutoring, into the students and teachers. Let the kids have fun dammit mannn (highschool was rough:sparky:

a Prom is not international, it is part of the american system, and we, the Bahamas, are using that, including its grading system.
