I am a master’s student studying social psychology at the University of Kent at Canterbury. The aim of my study is to assess, how we develop certain beliefs toward homosexuals in the Bahamas and our emotional reactions to them. This is a research project in which information obtained remains completely confidential, the information that you give will not be accessible to any other persons.
If you choose to participate in this study you are free to access any information about this study at anytime. Please recognize that participation is voluntary. You are free to withdraw from this study at anytime without giving any reasons. There will be no consequences for withdrawing from this study. There are no risks to participating in this study.
This research allows you to express your beliefs about this group, homosexuals, in a confidential setting, as there is no way that your responses can be traced to you. It should take you 20 minutes to complete this questionnaire that consists of 67 questions. In this questionnaire you are asked to rate whether or not you agree or disagree with certain statements. You are also asked to rate the likelihood of experiencing certain emotions. It will be extremely beneficial to complete this questionnaire because it will help others understand the beliefs that Bahamians hold toward homosexuals. I would recommend that you complete this questionnaire in a quiet and comfortable setting. Thank you, for your participation.
