I am a native Bahamian residing in the Washington DC area for the last five years. I work for a leading publisher of newsletters related to the Communications industry. My office is downdown DC and as a result, I am always exposed to politics, economical strategizing and lobbying etc. at somewhat of an intimate level. (Including the scary stuff!) These experiences have expanded my appreciation for politics in the Bahamas and I am so happy to have found this forum. Having worked for the Bahamas Government for many years in several different capacities at several different levels; and a leading interntional company in the Bahamas before relocating to the US to join my Bahamian-American spouse, I have first hand experince of both ends of the spectrum and am excited about the possiblites for our country. I listen to Love 97 and until recently More FM on a regular basis. I also read anything I have found on the net related to the Bahams includng the Journal and Guardian. This site is a welcome addition to my addiction for any thing Bahamas! I visit fairly often and sadly have found my disappointments growing with each visit. However, despite present conditions, I am hopeful that with forums like this and the energy and enthusiasm of many young Bahamians I have encounterd in this area and others throughut the US and at home, we will as a country get better and eventual reach our potential as a people! I guess I've worm out my welcome for this visit so I'll sign off now and look forward to talking to all of you soon!
God Bless!
