call me naive but im thinking stuff like this dont happen anymore. I know there is one fella on Exuma who is notorious for this- he knows who he is. The Bozine Town issue is different that land was stolen right from under them peoples foundation. Im talking but the people that sell the same lot 3 times before anyone catches on to their scam. Has anyone ever been brought to justice?

NO!
And you know who's the blame? The Registrar General Office!
They did not have a proper registry for land purchase and conveyance. Luckily, I heard them announce recently that they are in the process of computerizing the registry so as to HOPEFULLY aviod this from happening again!
But you know what, in the meantime, here is some friendly advice in purchasing land!
(1) STAY OUTTA THE NEWS PAPERS!- This is where most of the sh!t happens.
(2) Buy property from reputtable real estate companies. - It may be a bit more expensive, but the titles are 99% accurate. And even if it isn't you can go back to the company, cause they would held accountable
(3) Stay away from some of these family island. - Generation property, you never find the TRUE owners.
Happy land hunting!

The law can be changed very easily by simply changing the rigstration requirements which would allow your conveyance to be registered in a day, and also to introduce land registration which is very simple. It will not be done as long as the lawyers are in charge in parliament however.I heard on real talk the other day that if your deed is not registered it is not admissable in court..It can take two years or more to have a simle document registered so the system is ripe for abuse, but the lawyers do not care..they makin' money. Rid parliament of the lawyers and we will be much better off.
