One of the photos was just on the ZNS news and, unbelievably, the huge concern is who took the photo and how!! I agree this is an issue...but are they not missing the point? Surely they should be more concerned as to whether those prisoners were indeed left in the condition shown in the photo...naked, beaten and bleeding.

The issue is this:Did the prison officers had the right to beat those prisoners to a pulp while in lawful custody? Did the police officers had the right to beat your friend when interrogating him?

If the answer is no, what is the problem then? I am not interested in your political games. The prison officers and the police are wrong in both instances, the police for beating the crap out of your friend and the prison officers for beating those inmates into what appear to be a comatose state.

The fact that you know that police abuse was going on for a long time and you didn't condemn them is rather ridiculous.

I find it interesting that the same voices that were so concerned that these prisoners had murdered a prison officer last week are now so strongly on their side.
Don't get things twisted I don't advocate suspects being beaten or even convicted persons in general. I may have sounded harsh earlier but I am not calling for these prisoners to be beaten. The thing is though, I don't care if they are. Personally if they sustain injury I don't care either, they are around to recover from those injuries, some other people aren't. They stabbed to death an unarmed prison officer who they had already tied up. The police should have shot them dead in the streets wherever they found them, then maybe everyone who is so concerned for their well being could cry for their families.
I have many friends who are police officers and one who is a prison officer, I'd rather see something bad happen to these inmates than the people I know. Regards the government finding out what the majority of Bahamians' feelings are on this issue, most people might be a li'l sorry for them but ultimately they believe they deserve it.

I still maintain the stance that Officer Bowles died heinously and those people should be dealt with under the full extent of the law...not get a bloody beating because of their recapture.
