what makes the Government School Security and Christian Council think they have a right to do anything about it ..!
Its a humans right to like what they like or think the way they want, its also a FREEDOM we enjoy in this FREE country ... if they are acting on something that is against the law then so be it, they are then breaking the law, but seems most of these so called local "christian" groups are just paranoid or want to impose their ideologies on other people ..
If they're gay they're gay, if they're bi they're bi, if they're straight they're straight .. simple as that ..this isnt the dark ages .. it's 2006, they need to check their calendars.
let 'em be or face ridicule by people that believe in FREEDOM .. and those people are STRAIGHT also ..

I agree, people need to be respectful of others and how they choose to lead the lives they live and mind their own damn business. sin is sin. Maybe some of these gay people need to start outing these self-loathing hate mongerers who are on the down low for them to shut up for once. I already have my ideas about who needs to be outed. We live in a democracy people need to understnad that...and if we want our nation to be treated and respected like the real "free world" we need to start acting like it....it begins with tolerance.

It goes a bit deeper than that. I think this stems from the new sexual morality class, that they are trying to impliment in the schools. Its pretty intense, I saw some of the questions that were in the text book and it frightened me. Eg. How do you know how to satisfy your lover if you have only tryed beig a heterosexual. (2) Do you know that lesbians have the lowest count of STD's. (3) when did find out that you were a hetorosexual.
these are just a few.

again frying the wrong fish...the chidren need Bahamian consumer economics classes and Bahamian environmental awareness classes...maybe sex education/health and human development class but not a morality class...that sounds like brainwashing and bible beating to me.

Well this is what they want..... for homosexuality to be a crime.
However I do share their concern for adults of any sexual orientation who may be preying on children who are legally, not old enough to make those kind of decisions. Its happened, as we have seen on islands other than New Providence and Grand Bahama.
In my opinion, the more they press their point of view, the more ppl of other persuasions and youth on the whole may reject it. Youth are not idiots, they see and hear and know and not as 100% impressionable as the church or government may think.

Yes! while Barbados and Bermuda are beating our asses this very day, we worried about who got a crush on whom and what 15 year old tommy believes! A waist of school time and money if you ask me. Tommy probably already been with too much girls already, already knows about protection and knows the concequences of his actions. He needs some tutoring for his math! Not a second period sermon!

yes! yes!
we are so concerned about the wrong things...those kinds of sexul morality talks should be left to the parents and school needs to focus on education. no more gay shoes punishments...that's immoral and should not be tolerated.

It is a crime...:)

Dont tell that to a *****...they will tell you "most vehemently" that homosexuals and sexual deviance against minors are not synonymous!

I clearly feel that the majority of the new young lesbian women in this country turn to lesbianism out of
1. Suposed emotional security that they can not find in a man "all men are dogs kinda thing"
2. Some older woman turned them on to it, and poisoned there thought process..."organizational bevahiour would tell you that it only takes one negavtive nelly to tunr a group of good workers sour with their tainted bitter view of the facts AS THEY SEE IT!
3. Sometimes sexual gratification....as the ratio of men to women is 1 to every 3, they like all people need to have sex. Along with women being sexual beings (more so than men in most occasions), the need for warmth, caring and affection is needed by them and in fact for all human beings to "socially" survive.
4. Most "new" lesbians are doing this out of Whimsy and are not homosexual per say, but rather passing their time til the "right guy" comes along...
5. Most of them I find are Attention seekers....and are a whole lot more VOCAL in their lifestyle nowadays than the run of the mill gay male or "transgendered" male.
They want you to see their life..they want you to see that they are happy and its nothing you can do about it and its all the worlds fault....the world fault that we made them this way by making them unhappy with the social pecking order so in turn the attitude is.... watch me happy now suckers and mutha suckers!!
Yet they are allways un-happy and perpetually angry at productive strong male pressence and enjoy the torment of the wayward male figure, along with disliking any form of a healthy man and woman relationship.... It gives them proof and credence to them choosing this new lifestyle..a lifestyle of freedom and separation.
As misguided as it sounds, alot of young lesbian women are simply angry at the world order and men...
It is a fad...and a fad that has some social merrit, and can become a dangerous cycle if we dont nip it at the core...save some of these young women from themselves and let REAL gay people be who they are, and not becasue society dictates it to them.
The men are virtualy non existent in this society...and really arent worth a good ghad dam "so lesbians say".
It is true so when there is so little good men to share around...sadly some women would rather make due!

I defend anyone's right to live as they wish,if it is legal.I will tolerate them and be both civil and respectful to them as long as they do not display their perversion in public. But by God, I will never accept homosexuality as being proper or correct.

yk: lesbianism is a fad! WOW!
there might be some truth to the women seeking something that is not readily available, like love and affection from a man, but do you honestly believe that it is purely an attention grabber?
if a person is gay, lesbian or bi, who really cares. as long as the person respects you what gives you the right to judge them? do they frown upon you because you might be a bible thumper? and if they do where is the tolerance there?

I for one believe many people in this lifestyle are making a fashion statement.Case in point:Way back in 1968, I attended the University of Connecticut, remember these were the days of the "flower children"when self expression was everything.Suddenly drug use, civil disobedience and avant-garde lifestyles, including homosexuality were on public display. On campus nearly anything went if it wasn't violent,so everyone had a feel for the moral fiber of the community. My observation?Among young people of College age today, far more subscribe to homosexuality,or perhaps they just dabble in the politcal correctiveness of it?

That relates to the Bahamian society..and not the Canadian society!

This is what I have seen, and have been told.

Exactly!

a sexual morality class!!!!???? whoah. didnt know they conducted those, maybe we should sit all those preacher and leaders down and conduct a how not to cheat on ur spouse class?? my soul stop looking at the pebble in folks eye and dig the beam out of urs.
as for the probe, i hope they are not wasting gov. money to conduct it.
if there are adult females preying on underage girls then go after them but lets not forget about those nasty beer belly men preying on girls in pig tails either.
as i c it surpressing homosexualty in a society will only make society worse. ie it forces pple to conform leaving broken lives, broken homes, and broken hearts in the wake of conformity.
