No matter what you think of gays, if this man's allegations are true, then this behavior is unacceptable by the police. But then again, if criminals are on the force, what would you expect? Will the police force ever have a code of conduct that is upheld or is this a few bad apples?

first of all in all fairness to the officers in question i think it is wrong for the guardian rag dinosour sheet in order to sell and sensationalize a storey to publish the names of those officers.........without the all facts....I frequently works in the down town area to conduct business and am familiar with this individual, he is disrptivve as the police say an a real threat to our tourism product......... while not condoning what these allegations entails .......i am of the view that if the paper can jump right oput and publish the names of these officers without them going to trial...they can publish the names of the drug dealers and rapist too ....with just a mere allegations.......it is not open season on our fine officers ......lets give them a chance as the criminals we go all out to protect............... pandering to criminals won't get the job done in election season

I agree with Rory and I think CCTV's should be setup in the city.
Nassau is so small I think would be effective.

I dont own, sell or operate the systems but know first hand of its effectiveness in law enforcement.

It totally pertains to this thread.

get with it, CCTV is a part of life in the real world, we need it.

If there had been a proper CCTV system in place, the suspect/victim would be able to get a copy of the incident for evidence to be presented by his lawyer, and we could be watching it on TV right now, OR, the cops could also get a copy and prove their case if they have one.

Whoever it works for, or against, the fact is it works, and a picture is alot better than simple heresay.

This was a suggestion made by the former PM and party for which your avatar correlates.
This was what I consider a "valuble contribution" made by the FNM in regards to crime ("the debate").

I would not call the former PM an "ahole" or the party for that matter but agree with them both (Former PM and the party) and Rory also that CCTV (as it relates to making a contribution to this debate, of course) helps deter crime where they are setup and help identify criminals.

Boy, its good to be party free.

why dont nthey put cameras in all police vehicles like everywhere else...a premeptive strike against officers who like to root up and trample on the humanity of apt times, innocent Bahamians.

in any event, if this seems to be the case, those cops eed to be fired their is already too musch homophobia around here and if the police commission doesnt punish these people and give sensitivity training to the rest...if this is the case...we will be looking like jamaica pretty soon...imagine KB singing "bun de sissy MP"

where is fred mitchell (and others) when you need them to speak out against atrocities committed against homosexual Bahamians...it reflects so negatively against the "paradise image" in the international community..and coupled with the backdrop of the cuban slicing and telephone pole beating...

we must do better...

they need to ... some cops say they dont want it though ... those that dont want it, dont understand it helps them also, so long as they are not of the criminal element themselves.

but that's so idiotic why wouldnt they want it...Its quite obvious to me why...cameras have helped so many people in their police brutality cases in other jurisdictions...i see a roach...

Sorry Mr spy cam man......i didn't mean to offend you....my point is why whould the media go to great extent to publish the names of the officers in great details....isn't this some ethics issue?? when a suspect generally is arrested no matter how clear the evidence is against them, the media never gives the names untill a court appearence......shouldn't these officers be given the same courtesy untill their day before the relevant body.....:dgi: .... it seems as if it is close season on criminals and open season on police officers.... If some one slaps your head off one of these days or rapes your mother in front of you let me see who you are going to run to.....you can lead a fool to wisdom but you can't make him think.
