View Full Version : Cable Beach Sold!!
nady_dady 03-14-06, - 10:37 PM NEWS IS THAT CABLE BEACH HAS BEEN SOLD TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER. THIS PROPERTY WAS SOLD FOR 4-MIL, YES I SAID 4- MILLION DOLLARS!!! I SAW HOUSES ON MTV CRIBS THAT WENT FOR MORE MONEY. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS, ALLEDGELY, IT WAS SOLD TO A DEVELOPER THAT DOESN'T EVEN KEEP HIS MONEY IN THE BAHAMAS:shhh: . IT IS OFFICIAL LIL PERRY DONE LOST ALL CONTROL AND HIS MIND. I AM ALL FOR DEVELOPMENT, HOWEVER THERE HAS TO BE CHECKS AND BALANCES, AND RIGHT KNOW NO ONE IS CHECKIN
LITTLE BY LITTLE THEY ARE SELLING AWAY BAHAMAIAN LAND, I AM REALLY SCARED THAT BAHAMIANS WILL NOT HAVE CONTROL OF JACK AND FOREIGNERS WILL HAVE ALL RIGHTS.
Growing 03-15-06, - 12:02 AM they steady usin their last dayz to sell off my great grandchildren's birthright... and to add insult to injury, they are doing it for pennies at a time.... that mayaguana thing hurt my heart... now this... i tell ya!!
Cable Beach is an area, it cant be sold, people own homes there.
As for the Hotels, thats old news.
islandgyal 03-15-06, - 02:06 AM why is everyone so hurt about mayaguana, after all of these years? i never saw any bahamians other than the 5354 living there actually investing in land beyond god's backside, so why is everyone suddenly so upset? mayaguana is beautiful country, with a beautiful harbour, and no bahamians ever bothered to visit. alla sudden, everyone mad. suck teeth.

mayaguna isnt a country.........maybe you want it to separate?
babychase1 03-15-06, - 08:54 PM Well something needs to happen in the southern Bahamas. I wish they were doing this in Long Island, then I can move home and actually use my engineering skills. Maybe ill debate going to Mayaguana some day. I mean I agree that the land is given to them for next to nothing but I am from the islands and most of the young people have to leave and go to Nassau, a place that I dont want to live... so where else???? Ent much choice after all hey unless you parents are fortunate enough to send you to school. If you decide to move back home right away, you probably will end up in Nassau AGAIN.... I think that needs to change and the Mayaguana Development is a start.

I live in NY son, take a pill, Oh yeah who put a time limit on BAHAMAS ISSUES up for disscussion.:p
Now back to MY point. Cable Beach HOTEL sold to the lowest bidder. This is crazy, does anyone know what went down in this place i.e. Summerfest, weddings, concerts etc. I just hope and pray that all this development is not at the expense of Bahamian Heritage. EVERYTHANG IN WITH CHECKS AND BALANCES. I know the Bahamas is a goldmine but everytime I see or Hear stuff like this I feel Bahamians really don't know thier worth. As a Bahamian I just want to grab and hold onto everything but I just can't help but feel that the rug is being sold from underneath.
SOLUTION: Every Ocean Blooded Bahamian who can afford a NEW car should use said money to invest in the economy or BUY LAND, I plan to take my own advice

Which hotel was sold for $4 million and where did you hear this?
There are several hotels on the Cable Beach Strip and more than one was sold in a lump purchase for alot more than $4 million, by a group of Bahamian & Foreign investors, from a private owner in at least one Hotel's case.
